Last Saturday I went to my closest dealership to get the service manual for my 2008 XB9SX and they told me that it would take, perhaps, 2 month of waiting time and that I have to pay in advance. What???. So next day (Sunday), I found the manual in American Sport Bike, ordered right away on line, and I just received it today, in five days. I could not believe that a third party would be much better than the manufacturer in supplying their own service manual. Go figure. |

Did you buy the bike from that shop? Obviously it was not a Harley. I had the same problem with a shop in IL. It took some time and to order it twice for me to get a manual for a 99 X1. I really feel if the shop does not want to help the Buell owners, then why bother with selling them. Just my opinion. |

Well. this is not the case this time. The waiting time was for Harley customers also. The guy at the counter told me that for my bike the manual is less demanded so "it might take less time, but wasn't sure". So, this is a case of equal opportunity incompetence. Other than that I share your feelings about HD dealers. Out the three dealers around I visited when shopping for my bike, just in only one I felt I was treated as someone buying a bike. In the others, as soon I approached to see the buellers, all the salespeople seemed to scared away (LOL). |
