http://www.muskegonbiketime.com/?page=sponsors IT'S BIKE TIME... IN MUSKEGON! July 20-22, 2007 Don’t miss the National Music Artists, Bubba Blackwell the Harley-Davidson Daredevil, the Monster Energy Supermoto Outlaw Race, the Starboyz Stunt Team, the National Pro Hillclimb, Steel Horse Alley, the Mayor’s ride and much, much more! Muskegon Bike Time will be an annual celebration of the sport of motorcycling in Western Michigan. It will include a motorcycle only main street area up to 10-blocks long. This “Steel Horse Alley” will be lined with vendors, food and entertainment. There will also be plenty of scenic rides, sideshows and attractions. Planned events include a stunt show and jump by world record daredevil Bubba Blackwell. Bubba is the only official Harley-Davidson daredevil and has thrilled countless audiences around the country jumping cars, semi-trucks, and busses on his star-spangled Harley-Davidson XR-750. The Monster Energy Supermoto Outlaw Race also promises to have plenty of thrills, chills and high flying jumps as racers compete on a one mile course comprised of 1/3 dirt and 2/3 asphalt. StarBoyz, the motorcycle stunt industry leaders, will perform a variety of outrageous, no-rules, mind-blowing, motorcycle tricks that will have you on the edge of your seat. A mayor’s ride, led by the city of Muskegon’s Mayor, will take motorcyclists on a scenic tour from downtown Muskegon to the Bridgeton National Pro Hill Climb at Dan Raymond Park just northeast of the city. The large 200 acre park is home to a 200’ hill known as “The Wall”. In this extreme sport forty to sixty top professional riders compete as they launch their nitro charged, 200+ hp, motorcycles at a mountain of dirt with a steep 55 degree angle and two jumps. Muskegon Bike Time officially kicks off on Friday July 20th and runs through Sunday July 22nd, but don’t let that stop you from coming early and staying late. There are plenty of things to check out while you’re in town including the only nationally recognized “clean beach” on the great lakes and scenic rides along miles of sugar sand shoreline winding in and out of small towns and historical sites. Getting to Muskegon is easy by land or by lake. Muskegon is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and home to the Lake Express; a high speed, cross lake ferry which offers three round trips daily from Muskegon to Milwaukee. Hey Phat_J I have been busy here at the shop and haven`t had time to check out the forums lately. Thanks for nudging me and letting me know that you are starting a West Michigan group, I will try to log on periodically and see what you have going. Being a shop owner it is hard to find time to go to the events but enjoy reading about them non the less. Who knows I might even find time to get to one of your events and we can tell Buell lies what do you say? Ed |

Jason, your S-2 is AWESOME. Reminds me why I still have the 1995 brochure laying around here somewhere... I'm in Kalamazoo but won't have time for jack this summer as far as major events. I'm already booked for the weekend of Muskegon Bike Time and probably most of Martin chopperfest as well. But I'd like to get together and introduce myself sometime, or join up for a ride. Swampy - thanks for the roads info in your profile. I'm going to Petoskey soon and I'll have to try and work in M55 out of Caddylac. But I'm planning on riding the '78 Honda, so it won't be quite as much fun. |

Davefla, Please, M55 is straight, and no fun till you reach Manistee, from Kingsley, go north at the only stop light in town through the little town of Mayfield, then turn west on River Road. That will get you where you want to go. We had a ride last weekend in the Torch Lake, Bellaire Leelenau Penn. area(Both sides of the bay) The roads going east and west on the Leelenau Penn are curvy with no traffic. I have to get the Big Kids Blast an over bore. The piston was knocking something horrible. The only good part of the deal was the Little Kid stole the Kerker exhaust from the Big Kid and put it on his Blast! |

I dont get over to that side of the state as much as I like, but occasionally ride up to my familys property on rose lake. This summer is a little difficult for trips due to kid and house work. But I will try and make the camp out, maybe. |

Swampy, Yes, I am the owner of an independent bike shop and we can bore your cylinder for you. Do you have the piston now or do you need one? I have 4 or 5 Buellers that come into the shop frequently so I am not the only one in this area with one. I keep a few parts around for the tubers because that is what I ride and that is what my customers ride also. I love that area up in Leelanau, we are headed up throught there on the 21st on our way to Copper Harbor for a 4 day ride, this is my one big getaway for the year usually and it ends all too soon. PhatJ I will catch up with you somewhere I promise Ed |

Wow, Milo. Not much to say except I hope she's comfortable - and determined to show off for the physical therapist, eventually. How far along is she in recovery? Keep us posted, eh? Unrelated note: Had a great run to Petoskey and back last weekend, although I didn't get a chance to try M55 or any other roads. It's just as well, as I took my '78 Goldwing (which appears to need carb work again - my mother's Buick gets better mileage.) I missed the Firebolt, even though the OldThing is just too damned comfortable. It's still worth it to have both, I guess. A pic is here. |

Thanks for the well wishes Dave. Started the PT on Friday the 8th. She had surgery on the 7th. One plate and 8 screws. She's doing very well, considering. Her's a link to some roads in Michigan. http://www.motorcycleroads.us/mi.html Peace Milo |

Milo, thanks for the update and the link. Hope she's doing well. Bike night: man, do I ever wanna come out and meet you folks! I probably could have squeezed in a run to Clio, especially if I combined it with a visit at my parents' place in Flint on Saturday. But this morning, I found a nice big roofing nail in the rear tire. Has to be less than a thousand miles on it, too. At this rate, I'm gonna have to hold a garage sale just so I can still make the vacation & track day I've already planned. Oh well. Could be worse: I could have no Buell at all! |

As a youngster I hung out at the "Dragway" all of the time. Big Daddy Don Garlits taught me how to adjust the clutch on his dragster. Man that brings back memories. We'll have to get together soon. Ever been up to the "Pizza Ranch" in Hudsonville? Peace Milo (I tried to get on your "space" guess I'm not "hip".) |

Milo, thanks very much. I don't have a lift but I do have both stands, and a 2 1/2 car garage. I plugged the tire after work on Friday and put 26 test miles on the patch after curing. I plan to limit use to commuting until I put on a new tire the week before track day. I checked the log and found that I'd actually put just over 2,300 miles on the tire. Funny, that. But hey: when it's a Buell, who's counting? I'm gonna haveta confess to being lame: despite living in Kazoo for 18 years now, I've never gone to an event at Martin, Gingerman or Grattan. Going to school forever will do that for you, I guess. Maybe in August after the reunions and trackday are done, I can steal a Sunday. What's the "Pizza Ranch," Milo? |

Ahh, the Pizza Ranch http://www.pizzaranch.com/ Damn good food. (if ya like chicken or pizza). We'll have to get together with phat_j, and take a lunch ride. (when I can break away from my new job as home nurse). Janet's doing better every day. Peace Milo |
