Great ride today. Other then a small delay with the Beaverton Police, about license plate location. Not on mine but another rider in the group.

Great Class today. There were approx 16 that showed up and the topic of discussion was braking and shifting for corner entry.

Ride after or just discussion?

David, were you able to make it?

Discussion only. Only 5 of us rode out of 16 but I did no stay to see if the other four wanted to ride. I am glad it started raining just as I got home and pretty hard. None of the instructors rode.

Dave did not make it there.

Ahhhhhhhh DAVID!!!

Doc Wong IS the rider coaching you were talking about : )

So Braking and shifting for corner entry? I made that one last year at least. Main point is to get set up for the turn before the turn. Get the downshift done first, then break (Front only. Rear is for straight lines and stop signs!) Then as you get ready for turn in, you can get off the breaks and roll on the throttle smoothly for the entire turn. Going in too hot means you will have a harder time applying throttle control rule number one, and is a trigger for the SR's.

I miss any of the high points?

We also covered trail braking and how to help settle the suspension by adding some back brake to offset some of the suspension upset from the front brake before entering the corner.

We also covered light rear brakes for easier U turns. It aids in pivoting the bike.

Yep, First Sunday of the Month. Physical Address is 10500 SW Cascade Blvd, Tigard OR 97223. Alas, I wont be making the July ride (Cornering confidence - Stable Body Position and Anchor Points). July is ALWAYS hard for me with the Holiday. One of these years I'll convince Andrew we need to move the July to the second or third week.

On Sunday January 3rd the Wong Clinic will be screening Keith Codes “Twist of the Wrist II” DVD. This is the new DVD released in November and Keith has authorized this viewing. Andrew will be on hand as always to offer additional comments during and after. The DVD is just under two hours long so plan accordingly, there will not be a group ride.

Both the DVD and the book, Twist of the wrist II will be available for sale at the viewing. If you don’t own them, these purchases are highly recommended, and help keep us in Keith’s good graces. (DVD$35.00, book $20.00)

As the traditional location in the Beaverton Honda Yamaha warehouse isn’t exactly suited for DVD viewing, the clinic will be held at Moto Corsa. (2170 NW Wilson St Portland, Oregon 97210) Start time remains at 9 AM

Questions let us know and we’ll do what we can to answer them.

Great, slab it for 30 min to motocorsa, slab it for 30 min to the ride. Anyone know why the change in venue, other than the DVD explanation above?

We won’t be slabbing it to the route.

Of that I'm positive, revised route suggestions are flying through Emial.

Change in Venue is due to an effort to get better sets and central location I believe. Seems to be a rough change for those in LO or even, say SHERWOOD?

I have to admit the warehouse was cold and uncomfortable, but I HATE the idea of crossing the valley floor with a group of bikes.
