Its cold enough but not enough snow. I like to snowboard every now and then at snow creek. I know they make their own snow but I like a bit of fresh stuff too. |

here is the plan... Gates at state line road and 435. this is in leawood ks. saturday March 14. At noon. IF it is bad weather, we will roll the plans a week to the next saturday. I know this is EXTREMELY early to be declaring a date, & a lot of guys will forget about it... but, by putting it out there early, more people will know. PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDARS! this is nothing formal. just a meet and greet. lets TRY to keep it buell centric for the most part. nothing wrong with a cruiser or two & maybe a couple of metrics... BUT lets not make this a crazy sports bike fest filled with 90mph wheelies down 435. after we eat, we can look at bikes, talk and go for a quick ride. if there is a good turnout, maybe we can turn this into a monthly (or weekly) thing, with planned rides. I am putting this on my calendar now... and will put this info on the Buelletinboard too. then there is ZERO excuse for you to forget! 85 mph wheelies will be acceptable if you are riding butt naked. |

Duff, I will expect to at minimum some 85-90 mph one wheeled fly byes that I want see what else you have been working on. Or I will have to get my POS "cruiser" out and show you how to stunt for real LOL. Lee, please insert the pic of me and Duff doing some doubles action from the OK trip. The black bike may be in pieces at that point and time, it is going to go out and get "freshened up a bit" he he he. PS any strip clubs open at noon????? Tim or Sam |

I thought I would let you guys know that I am selling my CRF450R. It's like the Buell of dirt bikes. You either love'em or hate'em. If you hate'em it's most likely because you are not man enough and the power makes you "tinkle" on yourself. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/mcy/994743750.htm l |

Yeah that thing is sweet! I've been thinking real hard about sellin my stuntbike and gettin another dirtbike or quad. I'd like a crf250....Never had a quad before, just had some fun on my roommates and such. After riding dirtbikes for so long it's hard to switch to riding quads. |

Yeah, I will be getting another dirt bike to replace this one. I need something that is better suited for woods riding. This one is made for the MX track. Quads are fun, but they are far too limiting, tear up good riding areas, and take up way too much space for my taste. They are no fun to fall off of either since they sometimes land on you. I much prefer the freedom and versatility of two wheels. CRF250s are nice, but a little underpowered for me given my 200+ pound carcass. I tried one out a few months ago. If I get another 4-stroke, it will have to be at least 450cc. I would go for a CR250, though. I would really like to have a 450X with e-start. I think that would be perfect for my riding style. Absent an e-start, I am thinking 2-stroke will better match my kicking ability with my new knee. (Message edited by lowflyer on January 22, 2009) |

Yeah I think the 450x would be a good match for you since it's more trail-oriented but still has the power. I never really like the 2-strokers in the woods because sometimes it seems like there's a lot of shifting......Where do you usually go? Do you go with other guys? |

I usually go with one guy from work and sometimes other folks show up. We tend to split our time between a riding area in Topeka, Perry Lake, Deepwater, Arkansas, and my friend's parent's farm near Weston. The reason I was asking to possibly trade for a KTM was for the wide ratio gearing on their XC bikes. My friend rides a KTM 250 EXC. |

I've always wanted a KTM just to compare. I've heard they have pretty strong motors among other things. I rode a guy's supermoto one day and reeeeeaaally want one. Maybe some day....

Duff - that is the bike my brother has. A 625 SMC. He and his wife found out they are pregnant and he *may* be selling it soon. I have ridden it several times...and it is a blast. |

Yeah I remembered that Blane had one. Congrats on being an uncle! I'm almost at the point where I have to sell a couple toys to think of other things as well. Nothing quite that serious. Isn't life fun?! |
