We had our first ride as an official club today. The turn out was great even thought the first part of the morning was covered in heavy fog. We also welcome Kenny Dreer to our group ride. We did have one rider go down over bald peak which will remain anonymous until he chooses to make it public. I hope the best for him and speedy recovery. It really sucks to see a rider go down. The path to a high siding. The start of the slide. Check the skid in the gravel in the middle of the lane.
Front tire going off the road into dirt.
Impact 20-30 feet later.
The last skid from the peg.
Total distance of sliding approx 100 feet. |

Sounds like this first was like the last first. Hope anonymous gets healed quickly and the bike is ready for the better weather headed our way. |

Wish I could have been there yesterday, but still have plenty of business at the store, not to mention my doctor would kick my but if he found out I was riding with my arm still hurting. Sorry to hear about the wreck. DAMN GRAVEL!!!!! It's really nice out right now, so may have to at least take a quick ride later. Hope to see everyone soon, my bike has too much dust sitting on it and it needs to be blown off soon. |

Guilty party here! Certainly not my first rodeo, not from a lack of experience, as I certainly felt comfortable with the pace. Just enjoying myself too much and not paying attention to what time of year it really is. Went back to the hospital today and I have 2 fractures in the scaphoid bone, I'm in a temp cast and need to go to an orthopedist in a few days to chat about the next step towards healing. The big deal is the navicular bone on the thumb side, it's one of those areas that doesn't get a generous blood flow, and good blood flow is essential to fast and quality healing. Anyway my health is really good these days and I'll do whatever is necessary to get this healed up and get back riding again real soon. Let's be careful out there. -Kenny PS- My wife Lanie had to type this message cause for now I can barely type in a passowd. |

See that 'W'-shaped scar on my left wrist? Broken scaphoid, the two halves fastened via stainless screw. Recovery took a while, but no issues with the joint years later.
Nope, not a moto-accident. Played soccer for Microsoft, got hacked by some bozo and broke wrist in the crash, while grinding his face into the cinder surface. Kenny - get well soon! |
