CONGRATS Scott! You are about to embark on a great life experience I am sure. Take care! Travel Safe. And keep in touch! And let us know whenever you find yourself back in town. You gonna try to come back for MBV?? It was a pleasure meeting you! I will keep good care of your cooler, and I will keep it fed correctly. That is, unless you want to bring it with you. Just let me know. Oh, and post up some pictures when you get there. I hear it is a beautiful place. (Message edited by ratyson on September 14, 2007) |

Russ, You know what? MBV may just happen...my job has me coming back to the states about 5 times a year. A couple of those trips will be to huntsville and since my dad is now a true buell wanna-own, you just never know. The cooler is all yours my friend. I'm proud to hear that it will continue to serve it's purpose in your capable hands... Pics and stories of high priced beer and tom-foolery are sure to follow! Take care |

Cool Scott, I will take good care of it. Hey, if you are able, and willing, would you maybe be up for sending a few samples of the local brews? I have no clue about how to go about doing that, but if you could, I would be mucho greatful! Russ |

Just wondering but do any of the buell riders of huntsville ever meet up to ride or is there a buell club. Just got home from bike night and was one of 2 buells there. |

I have attempted a couple of times to get us all together at one time, but due to work schedules and whatnot, it hasn't happened yet. I ride with a group called the Tennessee Valley Sport Bike Club. It is a mix of sportbikes. Various members meet on the weekends to ride. The normal ride meets at the Sonic on Jordan and 72 on Sundays at 10am to ride. You are more than welcome to join in. |

lol I wished I could keep up with them I think pj and richard are in that group, pj drives a green 636 and richard a red vfr. I know pj hits the 150 mark on that ride everytime, I drive a blast and they drive slow when I ride with them. Im leaving out to go to tally with them today around 3 they are doing another track day. Has anybody seen a black blast just putting around in traffic with a little guy on it or seen it parked at hhgregg, just wondering how many people see me? |

Russ, I'll keep those dates marked on my calendar. It's cold here (low 50s during the day, low 40s at night) and I miss my bike but we're doing okay. We found an apartment and I should start the new job o/a 22 October. As for the beer here...well the local brew aint too impressive but if I can get some home for ya Russ, I will. Enjoy that weather and the ridin' fellas... |

So, did anyone make it to Buelltoberfest? How was it? I miss my bike and the roads! Thinking very seriously about ponying up the dough to bring it over here next spring... Two snowfalls so far (hasn't stuck) and consistently in the low 20s at night now...going to be a cold winter! |

None of zee snow seems to last more than the night...but it's only november so I have time! However...it is quite cold...high today is 32F. Low is about 24F. The roads here are impressive...it is all twisties...and I exaggerate not! There is only one true interstate in this entire country! Everything else is pretty much 2-lane highway. The only problem is the speedlimits are horribly low. Top speed limit in the entire country is 62mph on aforementioned interstate. Speed limit on the highways is 50MPH!!! The ticket fines are steep if you get busted too. Even so, a bike would very nice over here for about 7 months a year (however these crazy bastards suit up in in what can only be described as snowmobile suits and ride 10+ months a year!). If there isn't extreme ice on the road, you'll see a guy riding! I've been looking at used bikes mainly...what sucks is I can't touch anything newer than about 2001 for what it would cost me to ship my bike over. Not even a single! I was looking at 2002 KTM 650 super-motard style (KTM Duke II). It's a fricking single and the price tag is $13,200!!! For a five year old used single!?!?! So I think 'Berta may need get loaded up in a container and brought over here... ---just added--- I just saw used 2006 Uly with about 3000 miles on it for sale here. Hard luggage and GPS included. A steal at $27,358.49!!! (Message edited by flyor on November 14, 2007) |

Holy crap that is steep!!! It may be worth it to ship yours over, then when (if) you move back here, sell it. You can then get yourself 2 Ulys here for what you sell it for! Send some pics when you get a chance! It is going to be in the 20's here in the a.m., then only around mid 50's for the high... But alas, no snow. |

I have no idea of the exact numbers but there are definitely quite a few. There's expat groups you can join and they even have a have huge 4th of July festival in Oslo's most famous park every year that draws as many norwegians as it does americans, so that's nice. I've met quite a few americans and actually work with one who's office is next to mine. She's been here 4 years and loves it. I think once I've come to terms with the prices of things here I could settle down here for a bit myself... |

Well fellas, got some bad news... I got let my Uly go ...please no tears, I cried for her last night and now I'm powering through it. Unfortunately I was forced to be responsible over here (mainly due to the weather...but my wife might have had a little to do with it!) and purchase a small euro car for commuting to work. The bad part is that the "cheap" cars aint so cheap so there's no real way for me to get my Uly over here now that I'm a proud owner of a car I can't pronounce. Anyway, I'll be getting some specs, prices and such together in a bit. But if any of you know someone looking for a good deal on an 06 with low miles and quite a few mods, let me know. The bikes in my profile as well as a list of the mods. |

I got a little 2006 Citroen C1...it's a french car company (which I'm not a huge fan of), but the car was actually designed by Toyota and is assembled in the Czech Republic. It's a three-company teaming deal with Citroen, Peugeot, and Toyota...I call it the Automotive Axis of Ewheel...and I think the name of the car will be "Flench Fly"... It has 1L (998cc) 3 cyl engine and gets 61.4 MPG...sounds a little like a sewing machine and has a hard time up hills but other than that it's a perfect and cheap second car for commuting to work. When I say cheap, I mean cheap for Norway. I paid $19,500 with tax and registration... |

61.4 mpg is great... but wow that is pricey! Does your head touch the back window when you are driving? Those C1s are itty bitty! |

dude...it's a roller skate! tiny tiny but it does what I bought it for and that's getting me back and forth to work as cheaply as possible...even with what I paid for it, it's comparable to the overly expensive bus pass I was buying and it knocks 2 hours off my commute each day! I still haven't figured out why it's a 4-door...the back seat is a joke... (Message edited by flyor on January 25, 2008) |
