I rode one in Daytona. All I can say is this bike is very cool. It is almost as fast as my 02 S3. The bike is a lot of fun to ride? Did I say this bike is cool? |

Lines looked long when I was there on Thursday, so I didn't sign up for any demo rides. Probably a good thing. I would be sitting here scheming how to talk my wife into one, if I had ridden it. |

After lusting over that bike for months, I test rode it at the Daytona demo ride and what a disappointment. Bike looks awesome, ride it out of speedway, wow. Crank on a handful and it sounds like a giant wood pecker is trapped in the gas tank and violently wants out. WTF. Air intake noise wrecks the whole experience, at least for me, wouldn't be as bad if it made a "cool" loud intake noise, but a "Rodan" sized wood pecker? |

I saw one the other day that has a Remus exhaust system...It looks WAYYYYYYY!!! better than the stock exhaust...very clean lines...sadly, like a lot of nice bikes...the seat height is way to much for a Pygmy Albino Klingon like myself. |

They are a very sweet ride. It's 25 horses and quite a few pounds short of Buell performance. Sweetness nonetheless. |

DD, 25 horses is quite a bit bigger difference that what all the mags have been reporting. What are you basing those number on? As to the weight, I know it weighs a good bit more. |

Pure guessing. 103 thunderstorm - eighty something for the Sporty. Thing is - It feels like 20 when you tap them out - or tip them in. |

I was at the dealership today and I looked at one. I liked it more that any other bike they had there. On a side note I noticed I'm developing this weired thing towers Harley riders. It's like a feeling I get when I see them in the dealership or at my work. Like they are all primadonna or something. It's getting worse every day. When the guy asked what I rode I said a Buell and I was just waiting for some smart ass remark, and wouldn't you know he asked "when are you going to step to another bike." I get where he was coming from because he knew I was looking at this bike and wants to sell me one but it just gets old. I don't know, whatever, I'm just pissed I guess. |

LOL,you would be surprised how many dealership salespeople don't even OWN a motorcycle. Last week went to "destination" on my stock/original 83 ShovelHead FXRS, you would have laughed at the "Harley" riders who were looking at it like it was a space ship from another planet. I ride my XB12R to Main Street to have a cold one and the "Harley" riders mumble and smirk. BTW, There are about a dozen "Harley" riders in the place, all decked out in their almost identical costumes, but only three or four bikes. What's up with that (and that nasty rag/bandana thing on the head)? I ride my XB12R out west to a shack with mostly older Evo/Shovels and the "bikers" want to buy me a beer and ask about the performance. Don't let the "Harley" rider/posers get you down. |

I always loved them driving in their trucks but getting out of them and coming in the store dressed like they were fresh from a ride, everything chaps, jacket, doo rag... everything except the helmet & the bike... I missed 15 days of riding last year due to weather or maintenance.. it drove me absolutely batty. |

Last fall I was working at Gander Mtn when one of those guys, fully decked out with leathers, doo rag, gloves and goggles came in. I had to check out his ride, thinking it was 50/50 as to what he was riding...I ran out behind him when he checked out.....

103 thunderstorm - eighty something for the Sporty. I think they are claiming 91hp and 75ftlbs for the XR1200 very close to the 96-98 S1 non thunderstorm engines. |

Why is it that every H-D thread has to wander off track into discussions about posers and apparel. I get that a sub culture exists, but come on, it doesn't apply to all of us. The XR is a H-D step-child much like Buells are. BTW - just ordered a set of these for it - they'll be here next Tuesday |

I worked at a Harley/Buell dealer for almost 3 yrs. Lots of harecore riders, lots of posers. Now I'm selling BMW/Ducati/Triumph/MV Agusta, they have their own hardcore riders, each their own breed, you can tell the BMW from Ducati from Triumph riders just by looking at them. Not really any posers. My Buell gets less smirks here. |

The XR1200 is another one of those motorcycles that I didn't like when I saw it in the magazines, but when I actually saw it in person, I liked it a lot. I wish they could have gotten away with one can, but if they did, it probably would have been the same size as the propane tank bolted to the side of my GSX-R1000. I wonder if someone will make a system with a can on each side. I bet that would look pretty cool. I also wonder if it would be possible to do a Buell style system. I hope it makes it and sells well. I wish I had the cash to seriously be looking at one instead of just kicking tires. |

Sweet, what's the weight savings? And how much lighter is it going to make your wallet? Hmm, the carriers are different between the pics for that front wheel. Upper one is much better looking. |
