I had a XB lightning bar on Ebay, the auction ended August 27th. I invoiced the buyer for the item. I hadn't heard from the buyer until Sept. 1st. His exact words in the email where... "I pay for them soon". Then I got an email on Sept 2nd saying " I thought I emailed and said I'd pay Wednesday when I had money in my PayPal account". Never mind its 5 days since auction end!!!! Now I've emailed him to tell him I sold the bar's to another buyer because he hadn't payed for them and its been week since auction end. I did give negative feed back considering the time it was taking. He gave me negative feed back because I didn't deliver. I don't quite understand his thoughts. Did he think I was a department store and it was on lay away.Am I wrong for this??? Here it is the fifth. The auction ended the 27th of August.... how many day's since then ?????

What were the specified terms of the auction?

If they were to receive payment within 5 days, you have the right to pull the plug on day six.

I understand, but some auctions specify. Others don't.

If yours specified, you are good. If not, there is an inadvertent "gray area".

At this point, I wouldn't worry about it.

Ft bstrd,

After 7 days I listed them here on the BadWeb and they sold within hours after listing them. They were paid for and sent out today. The guy has called me names and swore at me in his emails and has threatened to sue me over a $15.00 auction. I'm not even paying attention to him anymore. But I'm getting ready to report him. Hell I've sold 174 or 179 items now with perfect feed back,Don't know what to tell him..... he should of been with the game some.

That's ok. I had a jack hole extort money from me. He sent me a busted item and refused to respond to my emails. So I reported him. When the eBay folks knocked on his door, he got all pissy and agreed to only refund part of the money.

It wasn't much, so I just took the deal. I should have pursued it, but I was too lazy.

I would forward his emails to the eBay folks. They don't take that crap lightly and will probably terminate his profile.

Since your item didn't have a "must be paid in X number of days" then 7 days is the default and you can file an unpaid item dispute and re-list or sell the item. If you forward the email from him that he sent you on day 6 that he had no intention of paying you until day 9 you were well within your rights and that along with the threatening emails from him should be enough for them to take action. The only thing that can hurt you is if you re-listed item before the 8th day. Basically I wouldn't sweat it, 1 neg feedback out of 170+ is not going to keep anyone from bidding on your items.
