Yep another chain drive with no guard. This one was made by Mike Norris at Norris Performance.....I haven't heard from
him in a while now that I think about it. I hope He's OK

Seen that.
Meh.
I'll give him credit for the machine work but anything that SHOWS that fugly little sprocket and nut is just plain lame.
Move along bubbles no feeding the trolls today.
I just don't have the words for the seat cover it's THAT bad.....

I know its ugly but it works great! Its going to be almost 100 deg. today and those beads prevent ye ol' monkey butt.... If looks concerned me, do you think I would be riding a Uly? |

Belt is fragile in gravel or sandy road conditions. Belt is relatively easy to CHANGE at roadside, half an hour with minimal underseat tool kit. but spare belt is a bulky piece which i am unable to carry on long gravel road adventures, thus my choice of Tsubaki Sigma 530 X-Ring chain drive. I carry a spare master link, about half the size of my thumb, fits right next to the spare tail lamp bulb and roll of e-tape tucked under the seat.
In regard to chain lube, I use a product marketed by Honda, in a small red aerosol can which goes on invisible, and leaves no mess at all. about 15,000 miles on current chain, no problems to report. |
