I have a broke kickstand bolt on my 05 XB9. called my 2 local Dealers and of course they don't have one. And there is an update bolt. So I can't get an old style bolt and the new part is on backorder untill end of July. I rigged up a bolt and sleeve so it has a stand but it leans bad and isn't what it should be. anyone know were I might get one of these bolts? I'm trying to find a dealer that may have one lying around. |

good luck. mine broke in november, it was back ordered till february. after a month of leaning frame pucks against buildings and poles i asked the local dealer to take one off of one of their showroom bikes. they were cool about it, but be forewarned.... the cityX has taller suspension than the lightning. therefore, the cityX has a longer kickstand. i didn't know this. my bike leans over REAL far. |

I bought a #8 case hardened bolt that screwed into the the treads. Then found a metal sleeve that fit the bolt and the hole and with a little work it works. This is on my track bike '04 xb12r and I have to take the stand off for some promoters, but it seems to be holding up. Luckily my City hasn't broke! I think they designed it this way so we would have an excuse to never quit riding! |

Take a look at the specs on buell.com Both have the same ground clearance and suspension travel. They probably put an SCG kickstand on your bike. |

my kickstand pivot bolt broke also. drilled and tapped the remaining part, turned a hardened stud in (5/16-18 i think) and reinstalled with loctite. argued with a dealer a few times ( perhaps one can teach a pig to sing.... in an alternate universe) after 3 months lead, i received a call from a Harley dealer, and the parts lady claimed to have EBC 345HH brake pads, left side handguard/wind deflector AND a SIDESTAND PIVOT BOLT ready to ship. we will soon see if they got it right. |

I need that part!! I think that maybe that is what the update part from Buell is like. They told me it was a solid piece with a snap ring. 147db, I checked out yer link but couldn't read it |

Sorry Busterx, hi Bombero... the full assembly is called "service leg kit", I think is a "only for dealers" package, not for resale... I will post the full code later! ;) |

(My "customization" consist in the filling of the post-04 notch to limit the angle of the parked bike and avoid excessive load on the sidestand...) http://www.147db.com/tech/sidestand3.jpg |

The part shown in the photo is only for 12X. Will not work with XBR/S because the leg is way too long. |

I checked my bolt the other day and it was held on by only a few threads! |

Take a look at the specs on buell.com isn't there a thread somewhere about torque specs from Buell in the service manual? and seriously, my kickstand came off of an N.O.S. '04 Lightning which sits considerably lower than my '06. what gives there? lightning low, maybe? |

the cityx has the same suspension and height as the 12s (except for the low scg models), the kit pictured above is what i have on my 06cityx, i put this kit on my bike right when i bought it, matter of fact i used the same kit for both my cityx and 12r firebolt, they have a different kit for the 12x(same stuff just a longer kickstand i believe), i got mine in 2 days, from hd appelton. call andy. |

The Ulysses had a sidestand problem with pivot and bracket bolts breaking. Buell came up with an updated sidestand kit. If a person had access to a welder and metal cutting saw. I would think it not too difficult to adapt the Uly stand to any other similar XB model. |
