So I put my Buell race pipe on yesterday. And haven't yet bought/installed the stock ecm.
I am itching to ride, what's gonna happen if I do?

I assume you mean Race ECM. Reset the TPS and ride it, some say no issues some say hurts the bike. I have found no issues at all running my Drummer with stock ECM and I didnt see that much improvement with the race ECM anyway. Just my experience dont take it as written in stone as I know some here will disagree.

explode. huge mushroom cloud. just kidding. look at the big pipe shootout dyno-runs. they did runs with your pipe and the stock vs. race vs. remapped ecm. from the fueling curves, looks like it will run lean. i'm not a tuner, so i can't say if that's lean enough to hurt anything.

Just leave you stock air filter in. Everybody put so much on the exhaust and ecm. YOUR air filter is part of this!! I will never recommend running a K&N to anyone any more. ON my 900ss, I had a lot of road grit in the air box. I would vacuum it out a lot? Your stock air filter will let in less air but your engine will enjoy clean air. My .02 I currently run SS drummer, stock air cleaner, stock ecm.

stock ecm, high-flow air-filter, modified airbox cover, drummer exhaust. runs better then it did before.

I run a jardine pipe with stock ecm and k&n filter, no problems. I don't think the race ecm is worth the money.

Thanks I think I'll go for it. At least till I save up enough for another chip. There is something else out there besides the Buell ECM, am I right? Anyone care to elaborate?

You can get custon tuned ecms also. I think al at american sportbikes can do it for you and is highly reccomended around here. Just tell him what all you have done and he can set up a tune for you. But i agree with the earlier post. If all you do is exhaust i think youll be fine. I have the odie pipe and holes drilled in my air box but am running the STOCK air filter and my bike runs great after it is warmed up. It kinda spits and sputters at light engine loads when its cold but its always done that.
