I would say you could fire it up to hear it. Just for a little bit. With out the Race ECM you will e running very lean. Not the best for the bike.

Im not sure but the exhaust servo might need add a dummy device, so that you dont get a check engine light.

I reckon you can start it.
Most people install the pipe then ride the bike to the dealership and while in the parking lot they'll install the race ecm then have the service guys take it inside to set the tps.

It might run a little lean so ride it as little as possible until you get the race ecm.

You can zip tie the cable out of the way so that it's there if you ever want to go back to stock or you can do as I did & remove the cable completely.

The zip tie method is probably better. If I ever want to go back to stock (highly unlikely) it will be a big pain in the arse to route that cable back in.

You can unhook and remove the servo motor once you
get the race ecm installed
Or get the stock ecm remapped and plug a servo emulator into the servo harness socket.

Thanks for the info...
I'll start it up soon tomorrow, I guess lean is better than too rich. I've been fouling plugs lately and am sorta gun shy after installing some new plugs (2 hour fiasco) and would rather not poke around the top end for a few more miles.

I have to disagree. We run a stockcar at the local oval, we are constantly playing around with carb jets. And I have pulled the tops of pistons off because of "too lean". Just something to think about. Lean runs hot, and detonates. So I guess if you don't mind melting stuff, and drilling holes in your pistons while she diesels, then sure, I guess lean is better than too rich.

Yeah... too rich would foul your plugs after all! Much better to replace your pistons and valves than your spark plugs...

Well I guess I know now! How ashamed I feel. I should just ghost-ride the bike off the dock. That might cool things down.
