Here's my baby.
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/boar d-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profile=firewhir l-users

It started running rough a few weeks back.
It's sorta like a miss or running rough but throughout the entire rpm range from idles.
So I have no idea what might be wrong with it. I did find the ignition coil to be bad and replaced it with no luck.

I need to get at $2000 for it. I'm sure it worth more than that in parts.
The race kit was taken off and sold so it's back to stock.
Bike has 22,000 miles.

I picked up my bike ('03 'Bolt 5000miles) used for $5000.00, add the full body kit & your other mods ( I see a muffler you added) to it, it should be worth at least $4500.00-$5000.00 if you ask me. Anyone else have an opinion here?

Hard to say, That's a lot of miles. I have a XB9S and 26k miles and I know it's not worth shit. Probably less than $4000. But it runs great and you'll have to pry it out from between my legs to get it.
Part it out, you'll get way more that way.

Be honest guys don't sugar coat it. LOL
I don't really have the time to part the bike out.

How can it be worth 4-5k with that many miles and it's not running right. Lord only knows what wrong with the motor. I have seen just the frame sell for close to 1k and motors that were completely apart in pieces going for 1k.

So you see why i am asking what's it really worth. Of course duh it's worth what someone is willing to pay fir it. Not talking that about BS.
thx for the inputs so far.

I have no idea, but I'll take the stock white plastics ;)

All kidding aside (i wasn't really kidding), it might be worth your while to do a little more investigating to see what the issue is. It could be something stupid like an intake leak or a bad plug or something.

I would think if you can't get it running right, that bike is worth $2500-3000 or so.

I'd be willing to bet it just needs a tune-up. It's certainly worth $2000 running or not. The parts themselves would be worth more than that.

Sounds like an opportunity to pick up a bike cheap. If you put a few dollars in it (tune-up, race kit) it should be a nice ride for little money. You could always go drop $11,000 to $12,000 including TT&L on a new one on the opposite end of the spectrum.

If you are going to let that bike go for $2k, I will find a way to scrape up $2k and pick it up next weekend!

Not kidding! Check your e-mail, sending a p.m.

Not if it came off the same bike.

What am I doing trying to help at this point, when I could get a steal of a bike.?

I'd rather see it fixed and kept, than sell it to me, for a discount.(I have "dibbs" BTW)

Sounds like a rubbed spark plug wire to me. Or a worn wire somewhere. Firing on 1.5 plugs.

Perfect candidate for a 1050 kit.

Hey guys sorry i been really busy.
I'm shocked. I post this thread just to get a feel for what the bike is worth.
I recieved about 15 PM's about the bike.
The bike is for sale. Give me a few days to respond to each of you with full details.
I'm not even sure how to handle the pm's and thread responses in regards to who has first dibbs on it.
I also have some parts and other stuff I would like to get rid of.
How should I handle it?
The reponses? Should I go by the pm's or the responses in this thread on who has first dibbs. I would like to be fair about this but I really need to get rid of this bike.

Firewhirl - Sounds like you need to open your bike up to a best offer type thing. Put an ad in the classified section here on Badweb and set a time limit for offers.

Hey Firewhirl - How did that body kit do with muffler heat down near the belly pan? I just put one one mine and I haven't been able to ride it yet. To be honest, I'm a little concerned about exhaust heat all together. Any problems I should be aware of? How much more did the fan run? How was the heat on your legs? All this compared to without the body kit.

Terribletim, the exhaust is not an issue as long as the fairing is aligned correctly. My needs a very small patch repair due to incorrect alignment.
Not sure how well yours will do. I ahve a Sebimoto full race fairing made out of fiberglass.

Okay, sorry it's taken me so long. I'm very busy most of the times with things I can not put off until later.

Here is the deal with the bike.
I need to get at least $2,600 for it "AS IS" NO REFUND. Like I said in my first post it is not running correctly. It has a really bad miss that's the only way i know how to describe it. I tested the ignition coil and it was bad. Replaced it but the bike is still running the same way. The miss/roughness is constant in all rpm ranges. I have no clue what is wrong with it and don't have the time or money to invest in it.

BUELL 2003 XB9R FIREBOLT COLOR WHITE 984cc's
VIN = 4MZAX12J033401994
Miles = Aprox 22,000 miles
Tires = Metzler M3 sport tires with roughly 1500 miles on them.
Battery = Replace with Buell OEM battery about 8 months ago.
Charging system = Replaced bad stator and voltage regulator.
Speedometer = Replaced with updated sensor
O2 Sensor = Replaced
Spark plugs = Replaced last year
Plug wires = Replaced last year but needs a new one, it has just about started to rub thru.
Front rotor = May need to be replaced, has a slight grab let go grab let go feel to it.
Brake pads = Recently replaced with Lyndall Gold pads
Owners manual = Included
Turn Signals = Lockart Philips after market non-DOT. I have two different sets I can include with the bike.
Exhaust = Stock muffler
ECM = Stock ECM
Air filter = Stock air filter
Belt guard = Purchased a new one of Ebay not installed but will include.

For $3,000 "AS IS" NO REFUND. I will include the following items:
Stock Blinkers = Brand new never unboxed
Manual = 2003 Buell service manual XB9R
Diagnostic scan tool = VDSTS Standard version Buell VDO-EFI
Power Commander III = 1999-2001 Buell X1 Lightning part number 83803-211
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING TO BUT THESE ITEMS. I would like the bike buyer to have first chance at it.

I will not ship out the bike to other states unless It's absolutely vital for a sale as a last resort. If I ship then the shipping and handling charges will be applied to the sale of the bike.
Cash will be accepted or Certified bank check.

I have received higher offers but I think due to the running state of the bike I don't think it would be fair to sell it for any higher. But I'll leave it up to you all to decide if you are willing to pay more. I'm just trying to get what I need and no more.

I will be emailing each of you that responded to me via email.

Forgot to mention the Power Commander III is brand new never installed.

I also have the Speedo re-wire kit that I never installed.
I am taking video of it later tonight. I will hopefully be able to post it or email the link to interested buyers.

I'd really like to get this bike!

If you can give me a little time, I'll take just the bike as-is for $2600. I'm thinking the weekend of Apr 7 would be a good time to do the deal.

If you need to do it sooner, I'll try to accommodate.

Also forgot to add I drained the motor oil and tranny oil and installed a new filter.
I did not find any metal in either the motor oil or trans oil.
I am posting this in the For Sale section. Please respond there so that this thread does not take up time in the XB section.
Thanks
