Had one and got rid of it. Pain in the ass to tune and when I got it right I didnt notice a damn thing. Spend the cash on something else... Like beer at MB4.

I'm with Hammer.
I'd spend an hour or so to get it set.
It'd run really good one day, and the next day I'd be trying to "tune" it again.
Get it "right" in another hour or more.
The next day, back at square one.
Good concept, poor execution.
My 2ยข.

I agree with Glitch, tried it also and was tunning it every other day...PITA

Went with direct link and have great results and the support from AL is second to none. he is DA'MAN!

I sold mine. Unless your going to be doing some serious mods other than the filter/pipe I would not recommend it. It's a bigger PITA than it's worth to get it right. I would recommend using the race ECM or getting your stock ECM flashed by some of the venders on this site. I use the Racm ECM, K&N filter and Drummer pipe. No issues there.

The Techlusion was a pain because I could never get it quite right. Race ECM was a simple plug and play (after TPS reset).

The TFi can be made to work really well on the EFi Buells, but is VERY SENSITIVE to adjustments, so take it easy.

We always recommend that you set these up on a dyno as, like most fuel injection adjusters or even rejetting carbs, you are very unlikely to get it dead on by using seat of the pants methods.

The TFi is a very basic kit that can only make the mixture richer. So long as you realise this and don't expect miracles it works fine.

I have one but I also have a Drummer, filter, and Race Ecm on my 12R. Kevin gave me the numbers to set the TFI at and it has been running very good. With the everything but the TFI I ran 8.78 sec et in the 1/8th mile. With the TFI I ran a 8.37 et. I have also ran in in hot weather and cold weather. It seems to run very well. I would like to see what kind of A/F ratios I run through out the rpm range though. It does seem to run very rich at idle. I know Kevin has tested the TFI unit a lot. Good luck Brad

I've been running one on my '04 XB12R for the last ~12k miles or so, seems to be working fine. I started with the settings from Kevin Drum and Mike Norris and adjusted from there. I haven't put the bike on a dyno since I installed the TFi, but that's mostly because it runs well enough that I don't feel it's necessary. I don't think for a minute that will yield the same gains as a properly tuned direct link, but for the price it gets the job done.

I can't say the same for the factory race ECM. Despite numerous TPS resets, a static timing adjustment, and letting a factory-trained tech fresh out of the XB class tinker with the bike we were completely unable to get the bike to idle properly with the race ECM unless fully warmed up. At best we could make the bike run great for about ~200 miles, then it would go back to sputtering and being unable to idle.

i still run the Race ECM, TFi, Drummer, no snorkel and a K&N. added an '07 outer and inner cover this year so i might need to tweak the TFi a bit but otherwise its running well, SOTP.

i echo Trojan's comment... you gotta be real sensitive with the adjustments. this approach combined with Kevin's settings and guidance + M1Combats posted comments on setting it up led me to a MUCH happier place.

i've been on a dyno but the ham-fisted tuner tried to act like he knew what he was doing. $100 down the toilet.

a map from Al is eventually in my future.. .

Jwz7, Kevin told me to set the TFI at 3,5,4,8 and ride my bike for a week then adjust from there. I haven't touched it since.

Spike, My bike still has problems at cold idle. Once it has warmed up though it will stay running. The tech had problems doing to tps reset with my race ecm also. I have a 04 12R. I think I might have my tps redone next time I go to the dealer.

I've got one for sell if anyone's interested. I ended up going with the race ECM. It's not perfect, but it's pretty much just plug and play. I don't need to pull every last ft*lb outta my bike.
