Has anyone put ar end mirrors on a Uly or CityX, while keeping the hand guards? --Sean |

Yes, Smokescreen has the hand guards on his bike, and with very little modification, they fit very well. |

I have the CityX handguards on my XB9S and bar ends. Very easy. No really good pics though...
They're the cats eye bar end mirrors. $13 from REI. Just go to a hardware store and replace the screw with a longer one, drill a hole in the center of the end cap and install the whole shebang. (Message edited by kdan on September 28, 2006) |

Ditto, with the third eye mirrors from any mountian bike shop. I did the same thing as kdan. They work great and hold up well. |

Can someone post a close up picture? And how are the vibes? Thanks. --Sean |

I used CatEye barends (the mirrors that stick up). I replaced the mirror bolt with a longer one and added a nylon spacer on the outside. This gives a nub for the handguard to grab onto. This setup keeps me narrow for going in and out of my garage, I didn't like how wide the third eyes made the bike. The trade off is that I have a smaller handgrip area also. Sorry no pic. When riding I can tell when there is someone behind me, but the vibes make it hard to tell WHAT is behind me. |

Nice Odie, I bet those give outstanding visibility. Nice shiny airbox cover as well... You must have a lot of time to wash and novus! (I still have NC muck all over mine from the Bratpac trip!) |

The third eye mirrors are very good. My last set would vibrate and blow back in the wind. The third eyes do not move at all. |

Reep-I have absolutely NO time at all these days. All the orders keep me way busy plus we are in the process of opening up a pet supply store at the moment so that sucks up a huge amount of time. More than I ever thought it would. Lets see.....there are a few other things I'm forgetting....oh yea, we're getting our house ready to put on the market, moving to another house until we build next year, my regular job I must go to so I can get paid, kids, Honey-Do list, and a few other little things. Yea, I've got tons of free time! I ride to work and back and that's it these days. I try to take pretty good care of her. That reminds me...I have to change the oil and I have new brake pads to put on...I gotta go!! |

How are the vibes? I was either thinking of putting a bar snake in the bars, or swapping out the mirrors. I'd like to see something other than light circles behind me at speed. Thanks, as always, you guys have been a great help. --Sean |

No problems with vibes that are any worse then stock. At particular RPM's you get some shake, but nothing that keeps you from from knowing exactly what is going on around you. I can check my left hand blind spot with my right hand mirror... |
