Damn the Knowledge Vault is a waste of time. I understand the point of it from an administrator point of view, but no one looks thought it for questions they could answer. They only look through it for answers to their questions! Sorry, rant done.

Now to the question I need answered:

It's not exactly hot here in England so it must be the lights, but for sure the bezels on my Firebolt are a tasty shade of grey, interspersed with a million insect carcasses that have somehow bonded with the plastic at a molecular level.

I clean 'em off but they're back again the next day. As for the upper corners of the bezels - urrghh - don't even go there LOL

I have the sharskinz fairing on my bike, and the bezel area has been painted since 2003. No problems with heat.

Paint away. No worries.

Then what is point of the bezels other than a place to keep bug guts? I guess it is a good source of protein if you break down in the middle of nowhere.

I was wondering the same thing. How difficult is it to remove the bezels, I am assuming that they are just glued in there.

Double sided tape. Just pull on it really hard. It will brake, but who really cares?

I managed to get one off without breaking but the other one broke into about 10 pieces. Luckily I had a pair of American Sport Bike carbon fiber bezels ready to install!
