Just wondering if anybody else has had this happen. It looks like my 06 XB12R is leaking oil from a weld on the swing arm. At first i thought it was coming from the oil plug but when i traced the oil trail it went up the back side of the swing arm, about 6" from the bottom right to the weld.I'am over due my 5,000 mile check up so it will be going in monday for service.

If I am not mistaken, the engine oil is housed in a plastic tank inside the swing arm. Check your oil lines in front of the swing arm for leaks.

It's running down from the weld 6" up on the tire side of the swing arm.I'll find out soon enough were its coming from but thanks for the advise. I hope its something simple as i would sure hate to wait a couple weeks for a part.

There's no plastic tank insert for the oil to my knowledge. They'll be ordering you a new swingarm. I wouldn't let them try and fix it, you spent too much money to deal with that. Have them order it and call you when it comes in if the leak isn't too bad. Otherwise your bike might be sitting there for a while.

Thats what i'am afraid of. When i took it in for the 700 mile check i had to wait for the shifter seal which i was told was changed for the 06's. When i find out where the leak is coming from i'll post.
