Waiting on new muffler.... gorgeous day. Can you run with the muffler off for a limited time... or not worth the risk of running too lean?

Your bike won't run very well, but you can run it without the muffler. I know a couple guys that have done this for short periods of time without killing their bikes. My Jardine came apart one day and I ran it about 20 miles over to a friends place to pick up his extra and it was no biggie. I wouldn't ride it that way for a couple months, but a couple days shouldn't be a big deal. It is after all your bike though, so if you don't feel comfortable doing it don't.

NOT RECOMMENDED

The main reason is that without support for the header pipes, which comes from the muffler mounts, you run a high risk of breaking an exhaust stud.

Let alone the no back pressure and crappy performance.

I had to do it a few weeks ago. My Jardine broke apart. Performance kind of sucked. Needed to get the RPM's up on take off from lights. Extremely loud. I really suggest you don't do it.

If you have to get it across town or something like that, do it but if it is not a emergency I would say no too.
