"credit-card style"
That is a good point, I never thought about that - seems like they always do offer the Jap bikes financed through the credit cards - at high interest rates

I've owned several gixxer's and they are great bikes and very reliable . I love my Buell and hope I have the same trouble free experience as on my previous jap bike's .
They are totally different animals

Good grief. I ride the bike I prefer, and my preference is based on a lot more than peak speed, or HP. Please ride what you like and avoid trashing the bikes that others choose to ride.

Don't be a bike bigot.

K?

How about this?

You: "Well friend, you better get used to having a numb left hand and perhaps forearm too."

Him: "Huh?"

You: "All of the high frequency vibration does a number on your hands after about an hour of riding. But I'm sure your right hand must already be used to it. Isn't it ironic how the item you bought to help alleviate that stress is now doubling the problem?"

Oops, that was a two-parter, not a one-liner.

My bad.

Angelwild327: Oh yeah...if you're REALLY brave.. just let him ride it a bit...that's all the talking that needs to be done.

I was riding with a couple friends last night, both of them on Liter gixxers. Both are incredible riders both on/off the track. I let them each take my bike for a spin. By the time they came from a little run around town I could see the grin on their faces through their helmets.

If they are really into motorcycles and not just being a poser, once they ride a buell they will understand.. No talking required.

My favorite one-liner in this case is:

"Whatever, I really like my bike. Yours is cool too."

See... nice and positive.. that way all are happy (and you know he's jealous of the Buell sound/looks anyway).

>>>>>All you have to do is let him lead and don't let him lose you.
After the ride, if he still talks trash, laugh and point at his crotch.

I get the occasional "you look silly on such a small bike" comments... I just tell them the simple truth... "that's OK, I didn't buy it to impress you".

First that's gotta be a true statement though. Know what you want, get it, and know why you have it.

I love my CityX, might someday trade it in for a Uly if I can find a good deal. I would happily own either based on what it does for me, not based on what it does to other people.

When I am in proper riding position I feel locked to the bike. Everything is exactly where it should be. And I am 6'4" and I like it. So what do I care how other people see me on it. That's what I have a Harley for. But while we're on the subject, does everyone have a Harley now?

Seems like there are more people getting Buells. I haven't seen an S on the floor at the dealer in what seems like aeons. So, I am guessing they are getting more popular, and harder to come by. I guess that is a good thing. Don't know.

In Europe, and other places, no one looks at life the way we do here. There they evaluate everything on real world performance. BMW has a single swingarm bike, and it looks ugh, but it must make tire changes groups easier. SO it is functional. Same with Buells. I always seem to get comments about the front rotor.

Just go ride with him. My neighbor rides a Honda 929R. While he did not come out and talk trash about the Buell, I could tell he was skeptical and looked somewhat down on my bike (an XB12SS). We went riding the other day on one of his favorite routes. I stayed right on his tail with the exception of one sprint over 110mph, and I was only a "safe" distance behind him then. He came back with a new found respect for my little Buell.

If he bought a new 2006 GSXR 600 . . .

"Damn, It's about time Suzuki got the exhaust in the right place!"

Suzuki has discovered the advantage of lowering and centralizing the can,
