Since there's been a lot of talk about Drummer on the board lately, i thought i'd pose this question.

Which is better? Has anyone done a comparison? they both seem to get a lot of kudos for being good.

There have been a few comparisons... Both are good pipes. Each has their strengths and weaknesses...

Waterloo....you know where Napolean was defeated.
But I never knew Napolean made it all the way to Iowa. Damned public schools

For the past 8 years I have worked in a test/lab/real world test enviroment. Data is very easy to manipulate to show the results that either the testers or what the sponsor of the test wants to see. And thats only the tip of the iceberg. With things like enviroment, operator error, equipment/configurations all factor into what the results will show at the end of the test.
Nothing like hearing the assigned testor tell you over a few refreshments that his boss told him to make sure this fails.

I'll put my spoon away now.

I'm pretty confident this will be unbiased and ran the way it was intended. I agree with you overall about statistics but this will be done right I'm sure.

I hear you Chris but more than one sponsor will be there, more than one BadWeb member will be there, There will be a number of pipes there...

Each pipe will be tuned to whatever specification the manufacturer asks for. The ones to watch are the Micron and the Drummer IMO. My prediction is that the Micron may make 1-2 more HP from ~5500-6800 on a twelve than the Drummer does but I believe the Drummer-SS or Drummer-CF will make 1-2 more everywhere else. I may be willing to up that to 2-3 more under 2600.

My only apprehension about the whole thing is that I spend time at 1800RPM. I believe each pipe should be tuned as low as possible. That in and of itself gives good usable data...

This test is removed from the major players back yards to remove home field advantage, and dyno differences.

People need to remember to look at the curves more than the highest numbers at the end of the test.

As has already been said there will be several dyno operators and different manufacturers at the test. No one
will stand for the test being biased and tarnishing the integrity of everyone there. It is a truly independent test.

How many different pipes are going to be tested? does anyone have the list?

on the off topic . . .

I was googling around and saw that swingline offers a collectors edition red stapler. However, looking at movie scenes, the collector edition is not the same stapler as used in the movie. How lame is that?

Fun fact...
Swingline did not actually produce a red stapler when Office Space was created.
Do to the success of the film they put a red stapler into production.
It has been their best selling product to date.
