I would say that if you find a dealer that will warranty it you shouldn't have to wait till it breaks and you get stranded. It is obviously worn and will break soon.

The pic on the link is exactly the same as i experianced at 1900 mls only around 6" of belt showed damage.Looked like the problem was caused by the anodising flaking off the rear pully, when i pointed this out at the dealers i was told all the anodising fails on all buell/harley pulleys so changing the pully on warranty wouldn't stop it happening again! so before the new belt was fitted i carefully dressed the sharp edges on the pully so as not to cause further belt damage.
Well it must be working as @ 6000mls the new belt is still undamaged (fingers crossed!!)

Which pulley is anodised? The rear is powdercoated, and I don't think they did anything to the front or tensioner.

The guys at the dealership told me it was anodised after i suggested that the paint was falling off.
On asking other people it seems far more likely to be powdercoated as anodising would normally wear thin on the contact points.
Does anybody else have rear pulleys with the coating that is chipped from the teeth? The dealer told me about every Harley over 6 months old has this problem & that in a couple of years theres no coating left to speak of!
