Can I put an oil pressure gauge on my XB12 so that I can monitor the oil pressure. Or should I stick with the idiot light, sometimes I don't trust that light. |

Of course you can . The thing is though, I think HD engines don't run much oil pressure at all so I think the gage will only read like four pounds or something... Not much use in it. The idiot light should work fine... |

Why so low? My guy's S3-T died when it literally ran out of oil on a LONG trip. He told me the oil light never came on. What triggers the oil light if the system is used to running so low anyway? |

The reason you do not need a lot of oil pressure is you have a roller bearing engine !!! The oil system is BULLET PROOF on the XB engines !!! |

I don't, I no longer am able to afford the bike, I sold. I used to check it once every other week, give or take a few days. Dull was checking the oil each gas stop or two if memory is right. Sorry if I came of pissy, got some issues I'm dealing with. (Message edited by Doughnut on March 21, 2006)And I'm not trying to be a dick, really, what triggers the light, low pressure, low oil?
