I took my '06 12R to Glendale Harley yesterday for its 1k service. What I didn't know was that it was Buell Demo Day there ! So while I was waiting for my own bike, I got to ride two of theirs - a 12Scg (I need one of these..) and a 9R. What a fun day. AND they had free food too !

Couldn't have been better if I had planned it.

The 9 revs a bit higher and faster than the 12 making it a bit sportier. With that said I like the grunt of the 12.

I second Cat's opinion. I found the 9 to be a little weak for me. But I weigh 215 pounds, so there's that variable to consider. If you come in at 145, you may find a 9 plenty strong.

On another note, the suspension on that bike was set all wrong for my weight and had a noticeable fork "hop" in rough pavement turns. That's why they're adjustable !
