i'm driving along and see what looked like a totally stripped XB12, open headers(no muffler) no front fender,etc...cruising at around 85mph, he lofts the wheel for a bit when suddenly notices that he's about to miss the exit (to 595)so he dashes across a few lanes and by now has already missed the actual exit ramp, and to my amazement...hits the curb edge at an angle nontheless, without a sign of slowing down, goes up in the air a good 2 feet, a'la motorcross style, lands on the grass between the exit and the highway, slipping and sliding, maintaining his speed the whole time and finally gets onto the ramp and exits like he's just done it for his 20th time...

i was like...HUh? Any attempt at me hitting a curb that was a good 3" high, at an angle, at speed, would have resulted in a crash and burn...this dude was like fricking evel knevil flying over curbs, on grass, etc...with his xb.
Whoever you are dude, you got some nads of steel bro.

That all sounded like fun until the jumping the curb at an angle part. I rode a wheelie right by an exit this weekend when a couple of my friends and I were out riding from KC to Lawrence. It was funny, I was riding a nice long stand up in 3rd gear and when I put it down I was the only one left on the highway. I turned around in the median and headed back towards KC, but of course they had gotten back on the highway already, so I had to go back through the median again. I'm sure everyone thought I was a nut job.

Sounds like he takes the saying "Ride it like you stole it" very seriously.

I don't know that you could pic the wheel up at 85 pup, but I know that I've been doing around 85 as I set the wheel down. I can pick the front up at 55 and ride it close to 85. I'm decent at riding wheelies, but I'm sure someone that was good could probably pick the front up in 4th. 3rd is no problem, but I can't get the front up to the balance point in 4th. Maybe I'll work on it thise summer just to say that you can lift up the front on an XB at 85. Details to come I guess.

As a former S. Floridian, I can almost guarantee this guy had the "uniform" on. Wife beater tee, sneakers with laces blowing in the wind, helmet secured to the lock on the side of the bike and motocross style gloves. I loved seeing those clowns. Fast&Loose. NUTS

I grew up there, close to that location, if you CAN'T ride like that you don't get to be a veteran rider. You should see some of the stuff we do in our cages!

which probably why his bike was allready missing parts. Riding like that and he will also be missing parts.

STUPID. Even in a cage. If I miss my turn I just curse and find a turn around.
