Sorry about all the confusion with the date of this thing.

After learning that the April 16th date the TPM wanted us to commit to is actually Easter Sunday, our BRAG club officers here at Buell of Edison have decided that the original date of April 9th is a better choice.

Once again sorry for the confusion, the BRAG track day at Pocono Int'l Raceway will be on April 9th as originally planned.

Call me with any questions at 732-985-7546 x6 or e-mail me at pete@harleyofedison.com. We will start taking reservations on Feb. 25th at our first BRAG club meeting for this year.

Damn Pete! Yokin' me one way then the next.. this is getting silly.. SO, is April 9th fixed in stone now? I need to make travel plans, reservations, take Monday off work (to travel back home) etc. etc. .. Dang nabbit.. Oh yeah, I also need to get some other stuff..

Like a back protector.. is fuel available at the track or do I need to bring my own?.. What about consumables.. like water, juice and light munchies?

Do I sign up through you or at TPM?

Since you're going to be there, I'm taking you up on your offer to pit together, since I don't have a tent or anything to stay out of the sun when not riding..

LOL.. I guess I'm just a mess huh?

Another question, unrelated.. did you get the stuff I sent you? I haven't heard, so I don't know if you liked it or not.. In-quiring minds want to know...

Oh, Pete...so detail oriented.

Yes April 9th is set in stone. I have the contract from TPM in hand as we speak. Man this is going to be a fun day.

I will be offering special discounts on racing equipment through HD/Buell of Edison so everyone can be well prepared for the track day. Once I have a complete list I will let you know, back protectors will definitely be on the list.

Highly recommend bringing your own fuel. TPM brings a 55 gal drum to the track but it is crazy expensive. I am trying to coordinate the consumables thing, so we will most likely have them there for you. How does pizza sound for lunch?

I'm thinking the entire Buell crew will pit together, how cool will that be?

Definitely got the CD's. The video is way cool and runs on a constant loop in the Buell of Edison showroom. The Harley guys think it is cool but you can tell they don't understand what sport riding is all about. Thanks again.

i just mentioned this track day on another thread just wasnt sure of the dates. are there hotels close by? where can i get a copy of the rules and such? i need to know about what mods i need to make going from street to track. i was thinking about riding down from Rochester NY to get some miles under my belt before hitting the track but if i have to make lots of mods it might be better to trailer in, ive been over seas a while now and havent really ridden in a couple of years so the 230 or so miles will come in handy. any info will be helpful

Hey Pete.. That's great! I'm getting amped up already!..

As for the 'video'.. I'm flattered to hear about it.. This year, we'll try and put another one together with better pictures and another song.. and tell the Harley guys that I'd be happy to do one for them, they'll just have to get me up there to take the pictures, oh and pick another song.. don't ya think?

Ok.. Now it's all in the waiting for it..

Chiefiron,
There are several hotels right off Route 80 that you can stay at. Check mapquest and you will find the track on Route 115 just south of Route 80.

For first timers, very little mods are required to the bike. They just require that you are running tires that are not overly worn.

I highly recommend putting the bike on a truck or trailer for the track day.

Xbcrazy,

i was talking more about turn signals, headlights that sort of thing when i mentioned mods. i will be on vacation so its not a distance issue for me with trailering or not, but i suppose if i happened, oh i cant even think it, drop it, i would still have a ride home.

thanks

I have already looked into some houses to rent in the area and cant wait. is it obvious that im excited and its still about 8 weeks away? i guess being in Iraq has made me a little @nal about planning vacations. hope to meet up with lots of you there.

Tim,

I pumped that you are so psyched for this event. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't find enough interest when we first discussed putting this thing together, but so far I've gotten verbal commitments from about 20 Buellers. We will definitely fill up the event when I start taking deposits.

Speaking of which, we will start taking deposits at our first BRAG meeting on February 25th here in NJ. Since you are in Iraq, I'll assume you will not be there so you can send your check directly to me.

Total cost for new riders will be $210 and for experienced track riders $170. This will include lunch, snacks and water in our own hospitality area in the pit area.

Registration will work like this; each individual participant will go on TPM's web site and register for the event and enter a promo code in the payment option box. This will override the cost on the web site and get you the lower cost. The payment will be collected by me, since I will have already prepaid for the event. So for now sit tight and watch for my post with the promo code.

Let your buddies know that they will need to e-mail me their names so that I can put them on the list of riders that will need the promo code.

Pete

PS- Anything plastic or glass on the bike needs to be taped up to pass tech inspection. Use blue painters tape on lights, mirrors, reflectors, etc. You will also need to disconnect the brake light and pull the fuse to the headlights.

Tim, You will be able to pay by cc also...no problem. The $210 cost includes ART and track time for new riders. I think I referenced that in another thread earlier. Sorry it didn't make it over to this one. As a special surprise, I have one of the top Buell racers coming to teach the ART class for you guys too...Art Diaz. You can check out his racer profile on www.buell.com.

Pete, I'm working on the promo code thing. I'll have it in a week or so.

Tim,

I didn't realize that you were going twice that weekend. Lucky you! You'll be an old pro by the time we get up there. In that case the $170 will cover your track fee and lunch.

Pete, If you decide not to camp out at Anthony's place you can either pick a hotel at the intersection of Route 80 & 476 (15 mins from track)or down in Easton, PA (35 mins from track).

Hey Tim,

It is great to hear that you will have the house to stay at.

I have your spot reserved in the White group. How many other riders will there be with you on our track day? Will they have already taken ART Basic also? I will reserve their spots also. Even though we haven't collected a penny, we are running out of space fast.

Are you looking for more house guests? What is the cost per person?

Hey Pete,

i really couldnt tell you how many, but most are coming for just sat it looks now and some to watch the GP moto race at lunch Sun. i will try to confirm with them this weekend and get back to you. i see why you were waiting, hard to get people to commit so far out. Some of the SV riders were already making excuses about the weather. i only need to know how to pay you for my spot.

Hey Pete..

While I have to thank Anthony for the offer of his front yard.. There is now a good chance of the wife coming with me, this means we'd better stay at a hotel. Oddly enough, she says she's not going to ride. I think she's still feeling either overwhelmed by the more experienced track riders or she really is just that uncomfortable in her leathers.

Oh and Chief, I'll be there Saturday as well, taking my ART Basic. Even though I've been on a track before, after communicating with some of TPM's folks, I figure it can only help me to know their rules and procedures better. Besides, I can use all the help I can get when it comes to riding better..hehehehe..

I know the feeling Blublak i havent been on sport bikes in so long and now ive done so much to my bike im almost considering renting one just in case. any way i have like 5 or 6 confirmed for the house right now, i think. i only looked at places that will sleep 10, when my girl friend and our kids were coming. well now they are not going to be there so if you cant find any thing let me know. The current top of the list is a three story chalet in the Mt Pocono area.

Hey Everyone, I can start taking deposits now. Please contact me privately at pete@harleyofedison.com with cc info and I will return the e-mail with the appropriate promotion code to be used when registering on the www.teampromotion.com website. If you are going to pay by check, you can send it to me at the shop. Find my address at www.harleyofedison.com. Cash can be collected at our first BRAG meeting in two weeks, call for details.
Also, for those of you you are going to go and take ART Basic before our April 9th event, I request that while registering you reference my name, Peter Alesso, in the referral box. TPM has a good referral program and I want them to know how many Buellers are riding with their club because of the work that Seth and I have been doing this year.
again the costs are $210 for first timers and $170 for experienced track riders.

Thanks, Pete
