Anybody here done anything to a XB other than the usual bolt in stuff? My kid is thinking about doing cams and headwork and I wanted to see if someone here has any suggestions/experience. Also what power commander will work on a XB12R? Thanks for the help. |

Or, you could contact one of our fine sponsors. Cycle Rama or Revolution both do heads, cams etc.

I've checked some of the sponsors,as well as an old one,was hoping to find some people that have actually used them for heads/cams and what kind of power they made. I'm still not understanding which PC to use as they don't specifically list one for XB12's. |

Here is all the information on my motor and it is putting out 108hp with 80lbs of torque. PUSHROD RACING'S ENGINE MODIFICATIONS: Wiseco Pistons 13:1 cr Millennium Aluminum Cylinders Race Injectors Buell Race ECU Buell Race Cam Set .585 Lift Valve Spring Kit (High Lift Cams) 34 Tooth XB9R Light Weight Crankshaft Sprocket IMR Race Exhaust Chain Conversion Kit (IMR) Ported and Flowed Heads by Bob Gage @ Custom Cycle Penske Rear Race Shock Front Suspension by GP Suspension I would probably have a bit better numbers with Rich's head's. I don't use a Power commander as I have heard they don't work well but then I have read on here that some people do use them so I'm not sure on that end of it. I use the Race ECU that only racers can purchase so I guess a power commander would be the way to go for street use. Good luck. |

I've got XB9 motor bored to 3 13/16 (1169 cc) Stage III heads, 585 cams, roller rockers, heavy springs, hydrosolids/cro-mo pushrods, lightened/balanced flywheel/rods/pistons, race ECM, Beson Exhaust, more small stuff. I kept the compression ratio down to 10.5 to keep the engine alive a little longer. HP almost exactly 100 but throttle response is wonderful. Motor as built COULD run on pump gas. I use leaded race fuel 94 octane. |

Oh and Penske rear, Traxxion-reworked front. EBC HH brake pads. Spend money on brakes and suspension and track day miles before you put money into the motor. You'll get faster quicker. Hals though not a sponsor also can do wonders with these motors. I used NRHS for the parts and Stage 3 heads. |

"PCII and PCIII will work on all XBs" You 100% sure about that wrt the PCII? I think they need the III (or the K&N version labeled as a II but in actuality the same as a III). Am I right? |

A K&N PCII is a PCIII and yes, that's what works. Get one for an X1 or an S3. The differences between the two are the length of the wiring harness and the map loaded by default. You WILL need the O2. You will need to read page 17 of the online manual that specifically relates to Buells. Increase the size of "the box" to 4500RPM as well. The XB's stay in open closed loop longer than the X1/S3 did. |

Here is a link for the lowdown on my bike, it has quite a bit of internal work. It started life as an 03 XB9R. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/148752.html?1127514797 92 octane is minimum needed. Hal's did great work and have been helpful every time I've talked to them. |

We have a tuner now that will let you poke new fuel, spark, and accel/decl tables into your ECM. I just finished qualifying it up at Vallejo over the past couple days and it works. Watch the American Sport Bike sponsor section over the next few days for my full report. Al |

Hdduece100th, We did some things to the engine have a look.. 123 HP (light ported heads (original valves) 150 nm. XB9 bored and stroked. We go this winter for the head job.. and if the dyno is there I'll post it http://netvoice.be/dragbike/viewtopic.php?t=26&sid=6fac46ee4f38d68552248fba2db9f 1a4 (Message edited by easyrider on December 10, 2005) |

Easyrider, funny, but Your valves donīt look stock like. Didnīt someone say You use oversize valves (wasnīt that You?)? Maybe Black Diamond? I remember there was a thread a while ago with a picture of Your heads with black valves. |

He Alex, We used slightly bigger valves the size was 1.84 inlet and 1.58 exhaust. You are right about that. |

Easy, where did You find 123 horses with this valve size? I remember seeing a dyno chart with 105 horses. From the ETs You run 123 seem to be a little high, donīt You think?. |

Only the exhaust.. street twin in the netherlands made it. We had a handmade exhaust for street setup.. We use only one dyno, so it couldn't be wrong.. And charly is not a micky mouse dyno guy... |

I'm starting to put one together now its a 1250 30 degree domes, Nallin/mine Stage 2 heads, SS drummer. I havent really thought about the fuel problems yet my goal is for individual throttle bodies and stand alone. |

Easyrider, what happened to the Dris I met in Drachten - the man who was friendly and appreciated every help anybody would offer, the man who wanted to race? All I see now is a Dris trying to tell everybody that he is a Buell performance guru, the man claiming to have the fastest XB on the drag strip, the man who doesnīt even hesitate to ask Stefanīs sponsor for a sponsorship. Remember who told You to use a different secondary drive ratio (which actually put You in the position to get the Dutch record). It was Stefan who is competing in the same class not hesitating to help You. In my eyes he is a real sports man while You are more a show man at the moment. We really like to race with You and we donīt mind telling our competitors that a Sportster manifold does not fit a top draft XB engine (at least if it is not modified). So please Dris get Your feet back to the ground. I hope I didnīt offend You. If You feel so I excuse in advance. All the best for next yearīs races. Alex |

Alex, whats up with you, I think you drink too many these days. I don't change, I am not different from last time we saw each other, and I am not a Buell performance guru, what the f... is wrong with you... I am a dragrace driver on a BUELL..... You dind't spoke to me sins the last time and you make a lot of accusations. Everybody knows charley is building my engine and bud is my chief mechanic.... What I am doing is research, I am looking worldwide if there is anybody on the dragstrip with a Buell XB and dragracing and faster then me.. What the f... is wrong with that.. I build a website because nobody worldwide would do that. I invest my money to help other people who also would like to start dragracing on a Buell. I help my dragrace organisation with sponsoring to let other people drive on the strip. I even help to set up a new class.. I invest my private time in helping other people to have fun on the strip.. SO SLOW DOWN AND TAKE A SISI... }{ and Yes you are right if you mean I love what I do, and yes I am a enthousiast, sorry for that} (Message edited by easyrider on December 16, 2005) |

Dris, You donīt seem to recognize that You are stepping on other peoplesī shoes. I will give You a small example: You say: "What I am doing is research, I am looking worldwide if there is anybody on the dragstrip with a Buell XB and dragracing and faster then me.. " In fact You write to people: "I am the current dutch recordholder with the buell XB in the netherlands, and the fastest Buell XB worldwide on the dragstrip." Man, I really had to think for a long time if we could call our record a European record, but I never thought about claiming to have the fastest street Harley in the world. Do You really think You are in the position to claim having the fastest XB in the world? I would just expect a little more discretion, thatīs all. Best regards Alex |
