Mine just broke at 6073 miles, 03 XB9R. Performed mods recently and have been doing a lot of wheelies. Wasn't any noticeable problems, I guess it was just to weak. The newer belts for the 03 are stronger.

Thats all the miles you have on your bikes???? You both need to get out and ride more. I just turned 27000 on an 03 bought in July 03. Would have more but was out to sea for 7 months.. And I'm on my 3rd belt...

I bought mine used in Feb. of this year and it had 2050 miles. I also have a scooter I bought in mid june and have already put 3000+ miles on it. I don't really do a lot of long distance riding yet. I've been riding for a few years now it haven't felt comfortable on the interstate until this year after I got my XB9R. I may try some distance riding this next spring and summer.

Just swapped rubber, so I put the updated belt on while I had it apart

2700mi and the original belt still looks good so I'm keeping it as a spare. I think it could go for 10-12K looking at the shape it's in, and knowing the abuse it's seen.
