Hey there, have had my 05 lightning for about 3months have 4k miles on it. Looking for buellers in central arkansas. was at the hog rally last month, out of 10k+ bikes i was the only buell. I guess my taste in bikes is better than I thought.Love my buell. Ride every day.
would like to ride with some folks.

Five of us rode down to Eureka Springs in July from N.E. Iowa and had a great time riding N.W. Arkansas for 2.1/2 days.

We'd ALL like to come back and bring more friends, let's put something together for next summer!!

I'm in Clarksville.

There's 2 or 3 I know of that hang out online in various places....another 2 or 3 that don't.

I can't imagine there being more than a dozen Buell owners in Arkansas.

We went the weekend after the 4th of July, this summer. It worked out great but next time I think we'll try to spend at least three full days there though.

As far as we're concerned the only place to stay is the Edelweiss Inn in Eurecka Springs, 800-870-2529. Bryan and Cindy ride and run the nicest place I've ever stayed in, plus the rates were outstanding!!

I'll start planning our trip very soon so let's try to keep this thread going to get everyone together!!

My wife rides horses and occasionally joins me on her bike. I like horses but haven't ridden in many years...too slow, dumb, and jumpy for me. She wonders if she might have met you at Lonesome D before? She's always going to clinics, horse shows, rodeos, trail rides, etc. while I am off riding around the hills on a bike.

She says she'll ride horses with your wife and we can ride the bikes. You might want to check this thread out...it features some of the interesting places to ride around here...

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55163

I had an 05 CityX myself and sold it to get the Ulysses. The CityX's are great bikes. There are times I wish I still had it.

Like to meet you some time...if you aren't familiar with them already, there are ALLOT of Buell friendly roads in NW AR.

Eureka Springs was the site of the 2nd 1st Annual Buell gathering. . . some of the best riding in the USA.

Awesome, Sounds like a good time to be had by all, lets try and get a date set by Thanksgiving or sooner and I'll do what I can from this end. Eureka it is. Is there a track within riding distance that we might try and secure, none that i know of but it would be cool.....now i'll have to buy my wife a bike............

>>>2nd 1st Annual ??

Actually. . . yes.

I have had, in 20 years of Buell Riding, the distinct pleasure to have attended 3 gatherings that were all billed as the "1st Annual Buell Owners Meeting.

They have all been an absolute hoot.

The one in Arkansas was the first one organized by B.R.A.G. and was absolutely phenomenal. Plus, the crowd soared to 15X the prior, some 15 years earlier, "1st Annual".

All these years, all these states and I've never met a Buell person I don't like. There was one in Boise that smelled odd, but that was an outdoor event.

: )

P.S. - the complete write up, by yours truly, of the 2nd 1st Annual is in the 2nd, yes...REALLY the 2nd issue of Battle 2Win. someone will likely scan and post a copy. . Kinda funny, that in that story I lamented what I referred to as a "Buell Dealer Dichotomy" in that the good dealers (Dave Stueve, Topeka, Liberty, Clown) were great and the bad ones absolutely sucked. I suggested that one of Buells major hurdles would be overcoming a "if it has two wheels, it's the same a a HD" mindset and correcting this dealer problem.

My history as a whining trouble maker goes way back, eh?

: )

By the way, lest this sound like a "glass is half empty" it's not. In those days, 10 years ago, Buell owners whined and cried with good reasons) about parts delivery. Today, I'd put Buell up against and motorcycle company in the world in terms of parts delivery. The new Buell parts delivery protocol is called "POOF" {Parts Orders Ontime Faithfully). . . this is good news.

Hallet Oklahoma is the closest track to Arkansas...would probably be a three hour ride there from Eureka Springs.

OK guys I'm going to throw this date out. How about July 6,7,8 & 9? Just after the 4th weekend so some of you can do the family thing first then escape for some fun!

Last summer when we stayed at the Edelweiss Inn and were able to put four guys in a room for the price of two so our costs would have been $15.00 per night!! It turned out that we only had 5 go so we had 3 and 2 in a room which was still a screamin' deal.

Edelweiss doesn't have a pool but a large outdoor hot tub that was pretty nice after a day of twisties.

As mentioned the owner, Bryan, rides and hooked us up with some great ride maps which I kept. They ranged from 132 to 300 mile rides. We rode two of the longest ones and had a blast.

This area is not good for large group rides as I had a tough time keeping an eye on four other riders on the most of the roads. 3-4 riders in a group would be ideal unless like us we all know each other and how each rides. Yes, these roads are tight!!!

Just happened upon this thread, this weekend in Mena, I believe there is a Buell stunt team there, I am leaving Friday afternoon after work. We (medium sized group) are gonna be camping out in the area then riding on Saturday most of the day (VERY spirited riding). It would be GREAT to meet some of you fellers then. Tomorrow, Tom, I will be going to Siloam to drop off a sleeping bag to a friend who will be placing the sleeping items in their van that will be making the trip. Anyone is free to call me tomorrow anytime at (479)366-3062
