Corbin! American Sport Bike sells them.

I bought the Buell "touring seat" when I bought my XB9R in July 2002 and it is quite a bit more comfortable than the stocker. Puts you up a little higher (since it has more padding, duh) which interferes a little (for me, maybe not for you) with the "feel" of the bike. But for long rides well worth it. Corbin may be better/worse, YMMV.

The stock seat the comes on the XB9SX (Street fighter seat I think) is really good except that it doesn't breath. So... Over time you get monkey butt.

Stocker on the SX is the Skyline and I agree on the monkey butt but it is comfortable. You tend to slide from back to front a bit on stopping because it is flat. Thinking about the new Select Seat with the gel.

I've heard bicycle shorts (worn under your riding pants) work really well for long rides. Extra support goes a long way.

I use bicycle shorts that have a padded "chamois" built in. Also sprang for the corbin from American Sport Bike. I cannot say enough about that seat. The new select seat is also due out but I don't think anyone has been able to test it out versus the corbin. Fast&Loose~ NUTS

Thank's for the input everyone , I think I'm going to get the padded shorts and try that .
I may spring for the seat but as vertically challenged as I am , I'm not sure that's the way to go for me unless I find someone out there with a low model that is willing to trade for standard suspension .......

Well... being that you have a 12R, the Select seat, the Streetfighter seat & the Skyline seat are not options for you. They are for the S. The only seats other than stock for the Firebolt that I know of are the Buell touring seat & the Corbin Firebolt seat.

CJXB, that's too funny It's like a lunar eclipse to the power of two.

Has anyone ridden on the XBR option seat to have an opinion of it?

I have the XBR Custom seat, and I honestly didn't like it. It is now back on the shelf. I found that sitting higher felt odd, so I went back to stock
