what is the part located in foam just under my air box cover? It has a cable attaching to it. And why would the other end be ziptied unattached? |

It is the servo motor used the run the exhaust valve in the stock muffler. If you have just a muffler on it and not the race ecm you need to leave it hooked up. |

I'll get a pic on here but I looked and the ECM does have "for race use only". And it looks like I have the entire race kit on there. I am just surprised there was no mention of it when I bought it. I was reading through the board and I am having the same problem as some guys on cold start. It sputters and stalls until she gets warmed up. I didn't see if there was a remedy but I am assuming that it is due to the race ECM. any thoughts? |

is it just how its going to be or do I need to look for a solution? namely going back to stock ECM. |

I have the 05 XB12s with the race ECU and K&N filter also the latus Muffler. With the after market muffler there is no need to keep the servo attached. My bike runs fine cold and can ride right off no sputter. at 3,000ft. same at sea level. I did have a sputter before I got the Race ECU and air filter. |

Sometimes when a race kit is installed the person who does it forgets (neglects) to reset the TPS. Make sure that has been done. |

Can I do it myself or is that a dealer service? |

If you have the digital technician and the software to support it, yes. If not, it's a dealer job. It takes about 15 mins. to do and should cost you about $30-$35 to have the dealer do it. That was what it set me back anyway. When the race kit is tuned properly it's pretty sweet. |

But dielectric silicone on connections. Mine eats spark plugs. |

I've been meaning to ask this for a while and I hope someone can help, I've got the race ecm and a D&D, so the servo has nothing to do, so can I remove it completely. I don't see any reason for it to be there, but wasn't sure. |
