Just purchased a pair of the GRAB-ON COMFORT GRIPS and installed them on the bike. NOOOOOOOO good! Don't like em' but has anyone else changed out the grips on the xb12r for something a little more comfortable. The traction grips look good but you have to cut out the ends of the grips to make way for some bar ends to help dampen the vibration. I switched from the stock to an aftermarket for comfort but the grab-on grips have a strange feeling to them. Mushy not solid with play in the throttle not good feedback. Should have not cut off the stock ones. I'm disappointed in my efforts. Any suggestions? Thanks !!! |

I have had the Galindo Superbike grips on my last two bikes (TL1000S and SV1000S) and have just put them on my 12R (bought from Al at American Sport Bike). I really like them - much better than stock. A little thicker than the stock grips but not mushy at all with great feedback. |

I'm going to try the Traction Grips first. If that doesn't work, I've already figured out how to install Jumbo grips from Harley, same ones I have on my Springer, on my Buell. |

I was actually thinking I'd try a set of those $80 grips from Buell.com... |

$80??? I need to check them out...why is Buell so proud of those? OK, I checked it out, and saw them before, but never paid attention to the price? It doesn't make sense. Why so damned expensive for Raised White Lettering? (Message edited by ponytail on July 20, 2005) |

I'm on about my 4th set of traction grips- I love them. They're a little larger in diameter than the stock grips and have a bit of a "barrel" shape that makes them a lot more comfortable than the stockers. There's a little less feedback than the stockers due the the larger diameter but it only took me a couple days to get over it. |

M1 - why are you going back to stock? Spike - did you wear out three sets of traction grips? |

Tom- No, I've really only worn out one set. I wore out the first set I put on my Cyclone and replaced them with another set. When I bought my XB I put a set on it but tore up the throttle side when I lowsided at the track. FWIW- I actually used the Renthal grips for a short period after the lowside. They're probably the smallest diameter grips on the market which gives them awesome feedback. I liked the uniform pattern and the overall feel of the Renthals, but the small diameter makes them uncomfortable for street use. After a couple hundred miles I switched back to the traction grips. |

I liked the feedback from the stock grips and never had any trouble with being un-comfortable... |

SPIDER GRIPS!! Do the research i am sure you will be pleased. AS far as why traction grips are so expensive.....consider the tooling costs, i imagine they are just letting you all pay for it. (Message edited by jeremyh on July 21, 2005) |

IT's not the traction grips but the "torque" grips I think they call them. The traction grips are only $16... |
