NICE work and color! Now go clean those blue pipes!!!

A metal polish like "Mothers" and a green kitchen pot scrubber works great. They'll polish up to a silver color, then turn original brass color after a ride or two.

Beautiful work.

How do you keep the chin guard from getting trashed?

Thanks guys.

Clean the pipes? I thought they went well with the blue paint... : ) hehe

I am going to apply a thick layer of clear paint protection film to the chin spoiler.

Is the film a type of plastic laminate, something you paint on, or both? I guess a better question would be, how long do you think it will hold up before requiring a re-paint?

Its a film not a paint. Google "paint protection film" or "clear bra" or "clear mask"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%22paint+protection+film%22

you'll find lots of info.

For me it'll last as long as I own the bike. For the guy who has a gravel driveway and rides 12k miles a year it'll will not last as long.

I've said it before, I say it again...

IMHO, the XB's appear to have the best build quality out there. Radius' edges on the frame and swing arm, screw heads are inset and contrasted in most places. No exposed wiring or cable ties or rubber bands holding wires and tubes in place. Fit and finish on the body parts is just outstanding! Clean design lines that 'flow' and compliment each other. IMHO, the XB bikes are on par for build quality and design with bikes costing many thousand $$ more. The belt tensioner-- an amazing feat of engineering, a styling cue from the first HD's now used on the XB's to achieve their compact geometry...there is so much going on with the XB's. You all are fortunate.

That color combo is just excellent! A showcase bike!!

Very sweet. Great color combo. It magnifies the Nth degree to which these bikes were designed.

Thanks again guys. I just got solid silver Arai helmet that I plan on adding some blue striping to. : )

The bike is now with one of our fellow BadWebers getting my wheels swapped with his. Since I store my bike in a damp shed and the aluminum wheels are too much of a pain in the to keep up on I've decided to swap for his black wheels. I think I might have my paint guy shoot them with blue and silver paint this winter but at least I won't have to worry about maintaining the aluminum.
The guy that is getting my wheels is going to paint them orange and leave the lips polished - I can't wait to see them on his bike -they should look awesome.

Turns out the guy I was swapping wheels with thought the black wheels looked really bad on my bike so he left the polished ones on. Guess I'll have to break out the aluminum polish and get to work on em... : )

Sorry, but I don't like it. It's not the bike so much as the location. I think it would look a million times better in my garage

Ok, enough joking. You already know from other posts that I absolutely, positively love your bike.
