I thought I saw something about this, but a search revealed nothing so here goes. A friend just bought a new 2003 XB9S and would like to lower the ride height by an in or so. I looked at the forks and they are about as far up in the triple clamps as you can go. Has anyone one here successfully lowered an XB? Any help greatly appreciated

I lowered my XB12S this past winter. I ordered two new fork legs, seat, and the rear spring only. I also ordered a new side stand. It took about two hours to change everything over. I sold my forks and spring to a fellow bab webber who wanted to raise his XB9S, Don't order the internal parts, there are many parts in the front fork that are specific to either the standard or the low. You just can't change the springs and go. Hope this helps...

"You just can't change the springs and go." Good to know. I think just the low seat will be enough for me.

Hogsndogs, about how much lower did you wind up getting with all of the parts installed?

Cyclonemaniac,

I have an XB9S Low and want to trade all applicable parts to regular suspension height.

Please see my note in the Classifieds:

I'm in Oregon. Your info says Indiana. Shipping costs should be weighed against new component purchase prices, but we still might save a dime with a properly planned parts swap.

Contact me after the weekend if interested.

It is the same height as a XB12cg which is approx. 1 7/8 in.

I was the Bad Webber that bought Gary's (Hogsndogs) XB suspension. If you want to buy an XB "Low" suspension just ping me and we can work something out.
