Rob, I guess this means I'll have to wait a little longer to ride with you. No biggy, it'll be all the better when we do. Life's a funny thing, you can be absolutely sure of something, then find out you're wrong. I was told that the people in the ER didn't expect me to last a week, good thing I'm not smart enough to know when I'm beat. Same for you, Rob. You never know, we might get that ride soon, or it might take a while. Fight what you can, accept the rest. One of my favorite prayers:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Peace Rob, call me if I can help (651-398-2274), and I'll see you on that ride.

Obviously none of us can find the real words to make everything okay. I used to be a pastor. I often found that all I could do was stand with a family when they lost someone...or stand with the person who was experiencing it themself. So, if it helps, know that those of us who are brothers and sisters because we have enjoyed the same experience of motorcycling and living life to its fullest, we stand by you in times like this. Even though separated by many miles and even a planet, we stand at your side and accompany you all the way. You are not alone. Know that.

I had a low form of cancer myself (melanoma...got it before it spread), and I now have a stent in my heart. I will be 60 years old soon. Wait for me on the other side with that Buell and we will catch some air together.

God bless you bro...peace be with you.

Cyko Bob/Bob Carpenter

P.S. Feel free to ping me if you feel like it...

Godspeed Rob. I totally admire your attitude bro. Seems like so many of the best of us who are so well liked, such as yourself, are gone too soon. I too believe that you will be in a better place. Blessings, Mark H. Alaska Ducati

Rob; Thank You for sharing and showing us your Courage and Integrity. You truly are an inspiration. You should re-read Olinxb12r - James Olin's post:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=32777&post=447442#POS T447442

I have a similar personal experience, and your courage, strength and clarity about your situation is a fantastic help and support for your loved ones - and will be for the rest of their lives. They do and will appreciate it. I know I do.

May you always find blue skies and twisty roads.

I don't have any inspirational words, but I do have my faith. I'm glad you do- and I'm glad you got that nice ride in. I say "Thanks, Sir" every time I climb something and see the whole world stretch out before me. You go on ahead and scout out some nice twisties for us! Later, -David

Rob,

I don't know your place in life, nor is that important. What is important is that we are sure, have faith (believe), in what is to come for us (yourself).

There are some times I've made foolish decisions but the best I've made was putting my faith into practice. I believe in God, his Son and the Holy Spirit and pray you do as well.

Without putting that belief into practice (baptism thru submersion) one can only go so far.

May God bless you, your family and friends!

I just emailed Penny S., AKA Kandie and told her how fortunate I have been lately. Truly Fortunate I have been in love with Three Women In my Lifetime. One I'm Currently with (Steph)Significant other. And Two Ex-Girlfriend who are both married now to Two Great guys and both have children. When the Heard the news via Steph. They both have taking time out of their own lives to come up here and help take care of me. That's when it really hit me how lucky and Blessed I am for not trying to burn any Bridges in my Life. (but now I remember why I broke up with them) LOL just kidding. All three of them get along like best friends, always have, which is great! Why would I just want one person nagging at me, when I could have Three? LOL just kidding again, maybe. It's starting to feel like Grand Central Station around here with Family, Friends etc...coming and going. I'm trying to see all the little ones first Nephews and Nieces, so the will remember me when I'm somewhat normal. Adults understand better, if I start to lose my Marbles.LOLThanks again for all the Support and prayers

Steph or one of others will keep you guys informed if not able to in the future, I have completely lost vision in one eye now. The good news is I don't need a contact for that eye now. Sorry Lame attempt at a Joke.

My friend this has been on my mind almost constantly since your original post. I truly think I have a renewed appreciation for my beautiful wife and my three wonderful children. I look at them playing out in the yard and want nothing more than to hide from them the cruel realities that are life if only for a little while longer.
You are only two years my senior. This scares the hell out of me to think about, but what if...? Rob, you are truly blessed. the serenity, peace and dignity with which you accept the future gives me pause. I can only pray I will have the courage to meet my mortality head-on.
Thank you for your inspiration and courage. And when we all meet again at our Creator's feet It would be my pleasure to shake your hand and call you Brother.

Too see your courage Team, and the outpouring of support on Badweb reminds me of why I enjoy riding and the fellowship of many like riders. My prayers are with you and I thank you for displaying a dignity that goes so often unseen. I can't find the words to say how I feel for you and your family, but thank you for living by example.

God bless you
