its seems that even though I let my bike warm up about 10 mins or so it still runs like crap in the mornings, missing, backfiring, the works. I was in a hurry this morning and decided to ride it home from work to check a few things to see if anything was noticeable, bad plug, etc. I got on the hwy and at about 4k in 3rd it sputtered for a sec and then full power like nothing was wrong. what could this be? partially clogged injectors? is it ok to run fuel injector cleaner in bikes? help please

Question for you. How many miles are on it? Did you get your TPS reset at 1000 miles? What does it idle at?

it has 1300 on it and no I did not get the TPS reset at 1000, didn't know I needed to. it idles at 1000-1200 range. the weird thing is that it is only in the mornings for a while then it goes away.

to long warm up peroid.30 seconds minimum warm up, i like to get rollin within 3 minutes maximum, my city cross is idling in a enrichened state, you can smell it, best to warm it up at 3000 rpm cruisin.cold climates run synthetic ,and still get rollin within 3 min.try changing your plugs. it could be something else[ doh] but theres 2 cents.

Check the engine temp sensor voltage, make sure it does not indicate fully warmed up voltage at cold start, also the intake air sensor might be reading warmer than correct which would lean it out.

Volt meter, I believe in parallel at the sensor will work. You will either need to put pins in the back of the connector or use leads that poke a pin hole in the wires.
The service manual probably has a good simple procedure, I'm traveling today and tomorrow so I can't look at mine.

Anybody got a manual handy?

If you don't hear from anyone email me tomorrow afternoon and I'll check my manual.

For about 2 weeks now I've noticed rough idling right after startup. This morning though, she started right up and the idling was the smoothest I've noticed in 2 weeksThe only thing I've noticed is that the weather is a bit warmer and this morning it was cloudy. Could the weather affect the idling?

weather temp... probably. Now that its warmer, my 9s starts first try instead of 2. Idles rough for 10secs then good. 1min warm up & i'm off.
I also notice the dunlops are squirrely when its cool.
