Went for a scouting mission over the weekend. Rode solo up to Bear Mountain, New York. Will definitely plan some more rides over the summer. The back roads around the park are really fun. I like tight twisty roads where you don't have to travel too fast. These roads had that and elevation changes as well. Lot's of fun! Recommend anyone in the area plan a trip.

Maybe we should schedule a "meet at the top of the mountain" day this summer?

This is from the top of Bear Mountain Park:

Another from same location:

Here there is a lookout tower and place to rest:

Fantastic picture. Looks like spring is just starting there. I have been up there many times as a kid with my parents and boy scouts etc. Great place to ride, hike, camp etc. Very nice.

I was just at the Danbury dealer getting my tps set and Liam was telling me about Bear mtn. If anyones up for a ride around Bear mtn., I'm not to far.
The guys at the dealership may be coordinating a ride to the mtn. this weekend. I'll post if I hear anything.

Is your tank bag on backwards? If not how do you read the map? From the front of the bike?

I would be up for a ride up Bear Mountain some time in the summer..I live fairly close but have never been up there yet - not on the bike anyway.

Bubabuell ? That is how all the Buell tank bags mount. You can place the map anyway you want under the clear plastic. The Pegasus is always in the front.

Hey Capt, nice scenery. I did my OCS over at Camp Smith (visible just over your tank bag in the first pic). Very rugged terrain- stay on the road! I'll come out if y'all go ridin'. It'll be nice to go there for pleasure instead of... well, I guess I actually did have some fun!

I'm thinkin' getting that tank bag. How is it at highway speed? My current Buell-issue square bag lifts my helmet too much.

I can't wait to see mountains this Aug. I haven't seen them since I was a little kid. (We're talking 6-8 years old.) Somedays it sucks being a Florida boy on the flat plains of Brevard County. Heck, I get happy just seeing small hills.
