I was getting my xb12r ready for my first trackday and everything started to go wrong. Without going too much into detail, I found my bike needed quite a bit of maintenance and repairs with less than a week before my trackday (and too late for a refund). Among other things I found I need new front brake pads (again) and I also had a problem with the Jardine (strap is too loose).

To make a long story short, I had no luck with Jardine, but Al Lighton of American Sport Bike put in a call to Jardine and had my replacement in stock in just two days. He also had the Lyndall Racing Pads I wanted and the Dark Horse axle sliders in stock.

I also had a belt looking like it would break and thanks Jesus at South Coast HD who did a parts search across all dealers and to the guys in the service dept at San Diego HD (downtown), I got my belt changed under warranty in just one day. Also thanks to the parts guys in San Diego HD (Kearny Mesa) I will have my replacement oil line this week.

A bunch of great people made my bad week turn to good.

If you ever need custom parts, Al and his family are great people, stock most parts and stand behind the products they sell. They rock. So does the service dept at SD HD and Jesus in the parts dept at South Coast HD in Chula Vista, CA

Thanks everyone!

Did "New York Myke" open a new shop downtown? I moved away a year ago and I can't see him letting someone else claim the name sdhd without a fight.

Yes New York Myke opened another shop downtown. Of course the real hero is Jesus at the other HD shop. The parts guys at other HD shops just told me to call around. I guess they either don't know they can easily look up stocking at other dealers, or they don't want to??

I live in Rancho Bernardo with is North San Diego County (inland) off I-15 and just a couple of miles from the twisties. Send me and email and I'll give you contact info. If you have your Buell I guarantee I can take you on some awesome rides around here.

I'll be here! Hope you heal up soon. If you don't have the bike you can still drop me a line and I'll meet up for some bench racing and drinks!

Just give me a heads up because I travel a lot with work, but mostly just for short trips.
