Can I ask about the quality of service at a specific HD dealer on this forum? Or is that considered out-of-line? It is on some m/c forums.

my dealership threw in the first two check-ups with the purchase of the bike. but i think the 5k mile one will run me about $250 and i think it includes an oil change. i do synthetic oil and i think its around $35, but i could be wrong. actually... i think itraded in the free hour on the dyno for the second check-up...

I bought a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 new a couple of years ago and my first checkup was around $250. After that visit I bought the service manual and did all the maintenance and repair my self. Bought my XB9R used and do all the work myself.

My first dealer visit at 1000 miles cost me 350$
That was basicly for an oil change.
Do yourself a favor and spend the 60$ on a service manual then the only time u have to visit the stealer is for tps resets.
(Or you could spend an extra 300$ and buy a scantool and do them yourself ((and your freinds)),and NEVER have to deal with the stealership again.
