Hi everybody! april 30th i'm going to a buell demo day at Merideth Harley in NH, and i plan buying the cityx! can't wait! my question to the board is i'm also getting a Jardine exhaust,K&N filter,Race ECM, and a couple of add on's like the mirror plugs that the firebolts have, I need to know what should I ask the dealer about the install of the parts, setting the suspension, getting the bike ready for me, etc. thanks everyone if you can help me out! this is my first buell purchace!

DaveS would be a great source for suspension settings, he did the my Firebolt, based on race settings and his personal feel in under 5 minutes. Be sure the dealer can do it for you, it should be included with you buying the bike.

As far as installs, I'd say that you could do everything yourself, given the time, patience, service manual (buy it for sure), but you'll need to have the dealership do the TPS reset when you change the ECM. It took me all of an hour to put the D&D on my bike, with a few beers in teh process. I haven't ridden the CityX yet, but love my Firebolt so far. I've over 30000 miles on my Cyclone, and Buells grow on me day after day. Get up there sooner, got for a demo and pick that bike up next week!

I think I would recheck the suspension since some HD dealerships really do not care much about Buells and they don;t have to do that often.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Eddie - If you can seal the deal ahead of time and have the dealership do it all for you, do it. You won't have to worry about the TPS reset, or anything else. You'll just get on it and ride! Otherwise, get the service manual and do it yourself.

Also, Meredith is SO pro-Buell you won't have any problems. The sales manager rides a lightning herself, as do parts and service guys. It's three hours away, but it's the closest dealership - and it's also where I bought my 04 XB12R. They'll show you the bike, get your weight and set the suspension properly. They did mine and I haven't had to touch it since.

I'll be there on the 30th helping out with Demo rides (a few of the BRAG club will be there). Look for the black firebolt with the black force exhaust.

Yup, Erik is hopefully going to be around (schedule permitting)...and we've got a club ride for Sunday with him if he makes it (so keep your calendar open). Buying a bike gets you one year free membership in the club anyway...

I definitely have had nothing but good experiences with them. I was down helping out at a Dealer "Get To Know Us" day last year and they even were able to squeeze my bike in for warranty service (the rotor). Dave King in parts is the man if you need anything.

I'd break it in first before the installs, and then do em yourself...
