I'm new here and thought I'd say hello. I'm very impressed with the activity and information on this site and have already come across some helpful information. I've had my XB9S since last June and have been riding for around 15 years, although my Buell is my first non-cruiser type bike. So far, it's the funnest freaking bike I've had..

Kathy,

Welcome to badweb! A friend of mine in Kaufungen, Germany has a '99 X1 Lightning. During one of my business trips to Berlin a year or 2 back I tried to ride with a group of Buell's that met up in Potsdam - just outside of Berlin. The borrowed BMW I was on just couldn't keep up with the Buells though. Do you know of BORG (Buell Owner and Repair Group)? I think most of the Buell riders I met in Potsdam were members of BORG. I hope we hear more from you since it's been so long since I have been to Germany and don't know what the Buell scene is like now.

Welcome to badweb!

Thanks for the welcome!

Yep, I'm in Germany, but not for much longer (I'm here with the military). Mostly I see clusters of Buells at the Harley rallies here, but I haven't heard of BORG (I'll keep an eye out). The most Buells I've seen in one place here were at a rally in Prague (as in the Checzh Republic) I went to last spring.

So, the Buells are out there, and they do turn heads. Plus, a Buell and the autobahn are a hell of an interesting combination :-)

Envy is a terrible thing... LOL!

Welcome Kathy. Please join in the forum. We need more girlies here. I try to get my wife to post more but she's usually tugging on my arm to go riding

What's your MOS. I'm a crashcrewman. Funny how much military rides Buell motorcycles.

Coleman? Funari? Sullivan? I can hook you up with a couple of chicks on Funari that ride. Advise.

Jump on A6 towards K-town and once past town drop in Bruchmuhlbach HD -- some great folks and although they don't advert it they're very Buell smart.

Can you run by Wingers for me and down a couple dozen of those awesome wings? Thanks :-)

MOS is MP (don't hold it against me, I was very, very, when I enlisted LOL)

I'm in K-town - good to know about the closer HD dealer. The one I've been going to is near Coleman in Mannheim. And I'm always interested in new folks to ride with.

Bigdaddy - looked at the pic on your profile. I love Deal's Gap (the Dragon). The last time I rode it, I was on a Kawasaki Vulcan, and was scrapping metal on both sides of the bike the entire way. Funny how that's not a problem on my Buell :-)

Wow, you're really close then. You could also head north towards Trier and they've got a killer HD store up there. If you're heading that way then you should ride on up past Spangdahlem and see the guys at HillBilly Motors -- you could have a seriously unique XB by the time PCS/ETS. You can hit me offline and I can get you some very easy directions. I can probably get you a tour guide if you want/need one?

The folks on Funari are doing a Benelux run as soon as the weather clears up. PM me and I can get you some AKO addresses to use for contact.

Good advice follows: Do not leave Germany without riding in the Eifel on that XB! I'm from NC and I know good roads and the Eifel region just totally rocks when it comes to the twisties. Just do it and be careful. Take care.

Welcome! Did I dream this, or did you post somewhere you were moving to Texas? If so, where? There are several small but enthusiastic groups here - Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston...

Let us know if/when you get here!

The relationship between MP's and Crashcrew varies by station so I won't hold it against you I wish I could get to Europe. I did four years in Okinawa and Europe would be so cool! Again jealous....

I'd take Bigdaddy's advice on the hillbilly visit. Those guys could give you a truly custom Buell if that's your thing. Enjoy!

bikrgrrl, Sent you contact info for a riding chick on Funari.

I'll work you up some directions, very easy from your current location, to get to Spangdahlem and then to HillyBilly if you want them. Advise.

Bikrgrrl, You're flipping me out! That's just so unbelieveable -- almost freaky.

Do tell Bev & Joe that I say Hey from NC. Good folks indeed (I do owe Joe a new rear skin for his Road King, but you probably don't need to remind him of that.)

Only on the BadWeb. Wow!
