I've been looking into doing an exhaust upgrade for my 04 XB12R. At first I was just going to buy the race kit from Buell with the aircleaner, pipe, and ECM. It seems like lots of people here are fans of the D&D, but I'm a little leary of going that route. I got a D&D for the Yamaha I used to have because I got a good deal and it was obnoxious. I don't want to have the same results again. Thoughts? Thanks!

I had the D&D and it was loud, but no louder than the guys with str8 pipes on their harleys. Idling, mine sounded just like a soprty with str8s. I liked the D&D alot. I got rid of the D&D in favor of the new force pipe, we'll see how that works out in the next 2 weeks.

I love my D&D. Don't be worried about the sound. The D&D's for the yamaha are a whole different animal. I agree the are annoying but on the twin they are sweet music. p.s. the video of the XB12 on the D&D websight don't do it justice.

Odies muffler sounds great, if you don't mind a little volume. It is really crisp, like a gnarley sounding sportster that has been built for power.

I have an '04 12R with race ecm, K&N filter, drilled A/B and a drummer. Sounds good, runs great. Have put about 4K on the bike in this configuration, absolutely no problems or complaints

The Drummer isn't much at all louder then the race kit.Even the louder version isn't a whole lot louder then the standard Drummer unless all the packing is out and thats not good.

Why does this topic keep coming up every two weeks? Must be alot of new people coming to the board or alot of forgetfull people.

It's definately not obnoxious. Loud enough to wake the neighbors at 5 in the morn, or startle the driver in the box next to you. I would say it is what the bike "should" sound like stock. I can hear it when I ride, and I can still hear people talk to me after riding for several hours. Depends on who, or "How", you want to impress I guess.
