Cowtown = That is SHWEEET! I'm still trying to find someone that will trade my black XB12S cover for a clear blue one. |

...It also gives you a nice cup (where the 12 exhaust servo would go)... I'm thinkin of this along the lines of stashing an Ipass badge in there |

Does everyone recommend the "de-snorkel" approach even without the race kit. Should you de-snorkel a stock XB with the 12 airbox? Thanks, -Brad |

Thanks Odie. I'll go back in a take it out then. I have nothing better to do until Spring. Wasn't sure if I should remove it without the race kit. -Brad |

you do not even need to take off your air box cover to remove the snorkel. just reach in the air scoop and squeeze, twist and pull out the rubber snorkel. |

Hey, Paul (Cowtown) - what did you do with the harness for the interactive exhaust cable? I'm getting ready to mod my box (I wanna be just like you!) but there's this darn electical harness hanging around... Let's go ride again! |

Hey Shawn... I like to hear that loud Drummer one day. I'm gonna be getting some art work done on the windscreen real soon, but I like to hook up some time. |

Aaron, Welcome... yes this site is awesome. I can not tell you how much I have learned. The knowledge from the others is amazing and not limited to just bikes. Enjoy the site. Do you know if there is a "Presidents Day Ride" on island? Maybe we can get together then. Shawn (sorry for hijacking the thread)...now back to your regular scheduled programming. |

Chris, None of the interactive exhaust system is needed with an after market pipe and race ECM. Thought you were installing a D&D? |

I believe that my 04' xb12s runs smoother and overall better with the snorkel in. I've ridden both ways experimenting. Frankly, this bike runs so well out of the box that I'm just doing maintenance for a while. |

Hey, Paul! Yeah, the D&D, K&N, and Race ECM are all on. I know the interactive exhaust "motor" is unnecessary and was just wondering what you did with the unused electrical harness - did you just "ziptie" it to a hose/line/cable, or did you take if off (I removed the I.E. cable, but still have the module sitting on top of the airbox in it's foam protection, and plugged into the harness - I didn't want to get any trouble codes before the Race ECM went on...). |

Yes Chris, from my understanding you need to leave the module plugged in until you install the Race ECM. I removed everything from my bike, module, wires and cable. |

Wow more Hawaii guys! Friday nights meet at the gas station at the beginning of Waikiki. It's the only gas station in Waikiki, on the main strip as you enter Waikiki. Okay sorry about the hijack. I cut the cable connecting the module to my interactive exhaust. (Message edited by Tatsu on February 15, 2005) |

I ordered the XB12 air box from dave. Couldn't wait went to the HD dealer and got the K&N air filter and de-snorkeled my 9, I know its not a big difference but i can't believe what those little tricks did for my bike. I can't wait to get the box and the new exhaust.

The race ECM will prevent you from getting an engine light without the exhaust servo plugged in? |
