Not at all. . .

That's the way things SHOULD happen.

Don't, please, misunderstand me. I have the highest esteem for Dave. He is in full synch with the concept of S-E-R-V-I-C-E.

Every penny a dealer makes comes from C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R-S.

To quote a famed Economist..."nothing happens until someone buys something".

Dave is, in my mind, a model of not only what a BUELL DEALER should be, but what ANY retailer should be.

To understand, what Dave knows intuitively, take a read on one of the following:

  • Patricia Seybold: Customers.com
  • Anderson & Zemke: Delivering Knock Your Socks Off Service
  • Reilly: Value-Added Customer Service

In addition, if you REALLY want to dig in, move onto:

  • Thomas Stirr - Miller's Bolt (incredible)
  • Robert Townsend - Up the Organization (from the guy who brought us"we try harder" - it's out of print - if you want to borrow it, I'll lend it to you.
  • Bennis - Organizing Genius (you can't really understand Buell until you have read this)
  • Teerlink - Well Made in America (it's out of print - if you want to borrow it, I'll lend it to you.)

If you get your leg caught in the atomic particles that make Buell "Different in Every Sense", slip over and do a couple minutes of cerebra-stenics on the parts about "change agents" (my guidelines) in GUTZ by Robert Lutz.

Dave is spectacular. He is excellent at what he does. You can tell if a person meets the basics to qualify for this by asking a basic question:

"do I look for reasons to buy from this firm or person?"

My list includes (but is not limited to) firms like Buell, Saab, Motorola, Dave Stueve (my bad), Al Lighton, Aaron Wilson, Ron Dickey (a one man walking lesson on honesty and excellence).

There are a host of others.....

I LIVE FOR THIS STUFF !

Dave just to let you know my grips and pegs arrived friday. With your advise they went on with no problems at all. Thank you! It is so nice to call for something, hear that it is in stock and on the way. When you are busting your its good to hear "great job" from people once in awhile. Makes all the hard work you've put in worth it.
So, GREAT JOB! Thanks again.

I called once and asked for Dave 'Steev' (what did I know?!?). The lady didn't have a clue who I wanted to talk to. I said, you know, the guy in the sales department, Dave? Oh, you mean Stee-vee! .

Right. Won't make that mistake again ; )

Dave,

Thank you for both of my orders that have been shipped, so far. They are packed well and the team up there gets them on the road quickly. You have all my future business. One of these evenings I will have to post my experiences in local HD shops. They are lost on Buell.
