I need new brake pads for my xb9r on the front. I got 7500 miles out of them, how's that? Should I replace them with stock ones? How much for them Dave? What about other brands? What about sintered? Thanks guys! PS. I'm charged 130 $$ for the stock pads over here. |

Btw, Just found out from the archives that Trojan advised SBS racing sintered pads (..with Braking Wave front rotor), or is that overkill for street use, or not advisable icw the stock rotor? |

I used EBC Sintered "HH" pads and they seem to work just fine. I got them from American Sport Bike because the OEM replacements were too expensive. |

I use sintered with my Braking wave on the 12S but would have used them with the OE disc. More feel and a nice progressive bite. 7500! You been using your boots for braking, Flintstone style |

I got about 7500 out of my front set. $60 for OEM replacements. I'm running the EBC's on the rear, and will swtich the front to EBC when due. About half the price! |

Okay guys I am starting to feel bad. I am still on the stock set and about to turn 10K. When Brian was up at Tilleys he was surprised that I got 5600 miles out of the stock Dunlops! I only weigh a little more than 157lbs could that be a factor? I am in no way easy on the bike. I like to go out and use it for what it was made for. |

running EBC hh front pucks. they work real well, feel a lot like oem, perhaps a little more initial bite when cold. like them just fine. unfortunately fork seal is drooling oil again. i have it diapered up with some paper towels and a wire tie. |

I am using the LRB (Lyndall Racing Brakes) gold carbon/kevlar pads on my XB9R, I think they are great. They have a very linear feel and inspire confidence during heavy braking, and if you are the type you can do stoppies at will. I got 15K out of my stock pads but I never felt comfortable with the initial bite, either too much or to little. |

The OEM pads ARE sintered. Nothing wrong with them, but you can get EBC sintereds for less. Buell pads have been sintered ever since the switch to stainless rotors in 98. Sintered pads give good bite (something that is decreased with stainless rotors), but they tend to have less progressive feel (i.e., a little more digital, on or off) than a well engineered semi-metallic compound. I haven't put the Lyndalls on the shop XB yet, but will when I switch to the wave rotor. I've been wanting to do the switch for a while, but what with the change in the US distribution for Braking, I've had to sell every wave rotor I get to customers that are waiting for them and I don't get one for myself. That log jam is breaking, however, some are on the way. I've got the Lyndalls on my S1W with stainless rotors and they are wonderful pads. They have the grip of sintereds and the nice progressive feel of a good semi-metallic. Lyndall offers a money back guarantee if you don't love them. On top of that, it's a family business, and Paul Jr and Sr are just the nicest people you'll ever want to do business with. I highly recommend them, they are a little more than the other aftermarket pads but in line with OEM pricing. I stock them for all Buells. |

Ingemar, Yes I have the stock rotor's front and rear. The LRB pads are wearing evenly and the rotor's look excellent, I have not had any of the brake problem's that other's have posted on the board. |

I am replacing the fronts with EBC HH. U4euh I put 8700 on the stock One-laps. It's a question of finesse and not spinning the rear wheel outrageously. I tend to corner like I would on a 250 Aprilla. High entry speed and crank on the throttle coming out. Scare's the guy's on 600's to death when you pass'em on the inside. |

I just did a dealer buyout, got a two sets of OEM XB brakepads. I don't normally handle the OEM pads, so I'll offer them here. Normal Retail is $58 front, 39.95 rear.
