Ok, I've got the race kit on my bike, XB9SX. (Muffler, Race ECM, and filter)

I've been thinking about getting the TFI unit for my bike to sort out the mid range on it. The race kit woke up the upper range of the bike to make it pull like crazy but I've found that from 2K-3K it stutters a bit and from 3K-4K it kinda lacks in pulling power. I want to know if the TFI can clear those areas up.

I think so.. but that's just my humble opinion.

I have a xb9r.

And to answer your question, Yes I believe so, especially if you completely open up the airbox like Odie, myself, Reepicheep and others have done.

The bike pulls hard above 5000rpm, but (at least in my case) the effect was emphasized by the dip in pulling power at 3000-4000 rpm.

Keep in mind though that the race can does hurt bottom end power and the tfi won't fix that.

Cat - I've got the Drummer, TFI, race ECM, K&N, & opened up airbox and I think its the winning ticket for a stage 1 modification on a 9. It pulls really hard from the bottom right up to the red line with no stumbles, misses or torque dips.

Sounds like a good setup jersetguy. I'll keep that in mind. First thing I'm going to try is the TFI with the race kit to see what I can get.

Same mods as Jerseyguy, and I can attest to his statement.

I have the same set up as Jerseyguy on a 12R, and concur this setup is rock solid.

Mine is surging a little at around 5000 rpm.

I'm getting good help from Dobeck to correct it. I am convinced it's a minor issue and will be solved by the weekend.

Hey I got a question? If you are opening your airbox up that much to where it's just a filter. Could you use that filter setup that is on the "FAST" velocity system clamped right to the stock stack?

The new stack with the fast system has a fitting for the filter. The rubber stack on a stock bike doesn't. There would be no way to secure the filter to.

The stock setup has a soft rubber cone. To clamp a filter directly to the stack, you would need some sort of extension, which I presume would have to be tuned carefully for length and shape.

Question for the masses:
I'm looking into adding these to my 03 XB9s.
Jardine RT One can.
Techlusion kit.
K&N Filter. (pull that darn snorkle out)
12 airbox.

Using the Techlusion kit, you don't have to run the RACE ECM ?? Y/N .. Are there any advantages or disadvantages in changing the ECM.
As I understand the Techlusion kit operates using the stock ecm..

Jardine RT one, at that $$ it's quite nice, I was considering a D&D but to land one in Australia it's going to be close to $1000, for that I can do all the above (listed).

Does anyone have any comments regarding the JARDINE ?..

Also, what is the going rate for a RACE ECM module in the US ?...

Cheers guys.

The TFi was designed for the stock ECM.

A couple of guys are trying it out on the race ECM and are getting gains over the race ECM alone. No one has done the back to back testing of all 4 set-ups yet...

At this stage, I'd say stick with the Stock ECM, you can always upgrade to a race ECM later...

The Pro Series ECM's go for around $210USD RRP...
