Has anyone painted their race muffler? I guess it is ceramic, not for sure. Mine has small areas of rust colored spots on it, and discoloration on it. I want to sand it and paint it, but I don't know how hot it gets and if any paint will stand up to the heat. If anyone out there has done it, let me know how you did it and how it's holding up. Also, what kind of paint should I use? Thanks.

Dupli-color High Heat (1200 degrees) works great on XB pipes as they really don't get that hot. Had great results with it. It is available at Autozone, Advance Auto, Wally World, etc......Odie

I figured that the pipe didn't get too hot. Now I have to decide what color to paint it. I think it looks great silver, but I also like the look of the stock black. I've got a while, so it's no big deal. Thanks for the help.

I painted mine silver with high heat engine paint about a year and a half ago. It still looks as good as the day I painted it.

I'm really starting to like that anodized blue look on the black XB12r. I wonder if I can get my pipe that color?
