Its really a one person seat. It goes up the back of your but alot higher which to me makes it easier to control the bike. Also it is so much more comfortable then the stock I can ride all day no problem. It also makes it posiable to scoot further back if you want to. I find the more time I had in the seat the more comfortable it gets. On the plus side also it looks ten times better then the stock seat!

Take a look at Corbins website to see what I mean. My seat cost me 225.00 delivered but I had them make it in black and red leather to match my red xb12s. Not a bad price I feel for the quality.

Look at my profile for a pic of the Corbin. I love the seat but also agree there is no room for a passenger but I didn't really think there was room on the stock seat either.

I currently use the Buell Streetfighter seat on my XB9s and find it MUCH more comfortable than the rigid stock seat. Actually, my only complaint with Buell is the uncomfortable stock seat! The Buell Streetfighter seat allows me to move further back and stay there without sliding forward. I must also mention that I recently tested a Lightning XB9SX and found that seat even more comfortable than the Streetfighter. I have wondered how well the Corbin seat would feel, but I have never been on one.

The Corbin seat is very very comfy and allows more room to stretch out. Looks great too!

Did you have problems fitting the Corbin on your bike? I couldn't get mine to fit.

Hey Ted-

I'd say that the SX seat is at least an inch and a half taller than the Buell Streetfighter seat. But the SX seat appears to have more foam under the exterior that would compress slightly with the riders weight. When testing the SX I could definitely tell that it was taller.

I've fit a few Corbins on the S models, and they fit pretty good with a little minor adjusting. They all need a little bit of razor blade trimming on the rubber bumpers to fit perfectly, and MAY require a washer under the latch bar plate (doubtful, you should be able to solve it with the razor on the bumpers). Mine fits PERFECTLY after 15 minutes of adjustment. It drops on, I bump the rear with my fist, and it latches TIGHT every time. No gaps, no movement of the pan relative to the bike. Most of the stock seats and streetfighter seats on the S exhibit at least an eighth inch of fore and aft movement once latched, some as much as a quarter inch. ALL the S model seats, including the CtityX and streetfighter seat, use the same seat pan, which sucks, IMHO. The CityX can get away with using it, because the tall foam masks the poorly shaped seat pan better than the other seat versions. YMMV.

Hey Al-

What seat height does the Corbin seat compare to: Stock XB Low, Stock XB, Buell Streetfighter, City X?
Thanks,
-Brad

Brad, I had the stock seat on my 12S. Got a Streetfighter and now also have a Low seat. The stock and the Streetfighter seem about the same height but the Streetfighter is much more comfy. I like the Low though as it keeps me where I want to be and gets my feet planted a little better. Sorry no experience with a Corbin though. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Brad, I have a Corbin modified to fit me. I called and told them in previous experience I found a Corbin to seat me higher because of the wide shape with sharp sides. They agreed with me and asked my dimensions and said they'd shave the sides and take a half inch off the seat. My foot reach to ground is now very similar to the stock seat and the seat far superior. Without the mods (no cost) I'm sure the seat would have been too high for me.

Brad,
As a reference, I just measured the footpeg to seat height on the shop XB9s (with Sato Rearsets) with both the stock seat and the corbin. Both are approximately 16" (very tough to measure precisely), but that isn't the full story. The stock seat is slightly crowned towards the center of your butt, the corbin is the opposite, slightly dished towards the center. The stock seat drops off on the edges towards the back of the seating area, the Corbin has a more defined edge towards the back. The net effect of this is that the Corbin FEELs a little taller than the streetfighter when stopped at a traffic light with your legs to the ground because more of your leg is used to wrap around the seat edge. However, when riding, with your thighs going more forward than down, the opposite is true, the dished out center of the Corbin makes it feel slightly lower. I don't have a streetfighter seat here now to make those measurements on, the one in the pictures above belongs to Mikel (wyckedflesh).

Here's a couple pictures, if you want bigger ones, ping me.

We've been working with Corbin to establish the best stitching pattern. The one in the top of this picture is how they come now.
