Hi guys new here. Got my red xb12s about 1 month ago! As soon as I rode it I knew there was a God and he has a bit of a mean streak in him. Love the bike but I have a ? about the race kit. It was installed at the 1000 mile service at HD Buell of Baton Rouge. I have had a great exp. with this dealer and they are very Buell friendly. When I got back the bike (i waited while they installed it) the snorkle was still in. I asked about it and was told to leave it in. I wasnt sure this was correct so I called buell they say to take it out. So which is it? I have pulled it out tend to believe buell more.

The snorkel that is.... NOT the velocity stack that is in the center. Pull the snorkel that is towards the front left and goes through the frame.

If they think you are supposed to leave the Snorkel in, where the instructions clearly says "remove"
then they need to explain why they think it needs to stay in...
put them on the spot, watch them squirm!

of course they may know something we don't...LOL

Hi

Love my Xb12S 2004....but I don't like too much the sound of it

I'm planning to put a Race kit (exhaust, ecm, air filter) at the 1000M service....after the winter

I did read here that I will lose the warranty of the bike with the kit, but my dealer told my that if THEY install the kit the bike will be still under warranty

also What about if I put the air filter, ECm and a other exhaust like Jardine, Drummer, etc... will this affect my warranty

I'm confused

Any suggestions

Thanks for your help

Rsohler, If your dealer says they'll honor the warranty if they put the race kit on. Let them do it and don't worry about other exhaust until the warranty time is up.

I pulled the snorkle but now the xb is running a little ruff. Maybe the ecm just needs to get use to it? I did call the dealer and told them buell said to take it out. They said the tech would be calling me. They really are good guys over there and its only a small oops that I fixed in about 5 minutes. I just crunched up the top and pulled it out through the air intake. Was thinking of adding the techlusion, is it a hard install?

what portion of what particular warranty were they threatening to void with your installation of which air filter element and factory ECM? Are these Buell brand parts? Did they specify which brands of motor oil and tire you need to use? look up the magnuson -moss act. there are federal laws applicable here.

Yes, it's getting more air faster. A quick 10 minute ride around 3800rpm should set everything right.

Bigeasy, the Techlusion is about an hour job as the outer airbox, inner airbox, and right side air scoop need to come off, then run all the wires and put everything back in. Well worth the effort and time. It really changes the bikes personality....Odie

thx odie! Will my mid range come back with this installed? Also wondering if you can turn the techlusion on and off when you want, maybe a toggle switch up by the handle bars. Reason I ask is from the website it says the tech adds fuel and therefor it will decrease my mpg. In the summer I will be riding up to chicago then detroit and back down to new orleans. I'll be needing all the range I can get
