Most of the newer bikes have a digital readout. Can this be done for the XB12r? I know I could get a digital readout using a GPS, but I have no use for a GPS unit. Just wondering. |

lots of units available -- search the board for Bicycle units -- also, I think Dakota (or somesuch like that) has stuff for sporties -- could be they transfer to XBs? |

SigmaSport BC8000 will do the trick. |

How and what would you use for a pickup on the wheel? I've tried the one made for a bicycle, and could't get it to work. This wasn't on a Buell, but on a dirt bike with spokes. |

Look back through the archives for that veypor unit. A little pricey, but does a lot. |

I've installed BC8000 on three bikes so far and never had any trouble in finding a suitable place for the pickup. USD forks do make it a little tricky to hide and make sure you place it below the slide tube.on the forks. I would think on the spokes of the front wheel would be ideal for the magnet and on the brake bracket would work. |

you might be able to by a digital speedo that has the hook up to convert a normal analog signal into a digital. Had to do this on a '84 Honda CRX a couple years ago. |

We have developed a special adapter for all Harleys and Buells with an electronic speedo. It uses the the stock speedo sensor. No need for a pickup on the wheel! You can use it with digital speedometers like Sigma BC8000, Motogadget Motoscope Light, DET and others. Regards Stefan |

Okay now you got me interested. Stefan... where is this adapter and can you give me some links for information on the Sigman BC8000 or Motogadget Motorscople Light. I also noticed you had a NOS kit on your 9XBr? What kind of kit and how was the installation? |

Here is the link to our adapter: http://www.sf-bikeparts.de/shop/tacho___co..htm There's only a german version of our site available at the moment, but we are working on an english one. The adapter is very easy to install. It has a deutsch-connector for the connection to the Buell speedo-sensor, a ground and +12V wire and a wire with the speedo pulses for digital speedos. For more information about the Sigma speedo look at www.sigmasport.co.uk More details about the motoscope: http://www.motogadget.de/ The nitrous kit on my XB9 is from Nitrous Express. We developed a special air intake system, so we got enough space for all components under the cover. It's a hidden system now! :-)) Look at the knowledge vault (dyno charts with listings of modifications) for the dyno graph! Regards Stefan (Message edited by Stefan F. on November 16, 2004) |

it's good that those who want a digital readout can get one -- I'm curious, though, as to why you would want to change (other then the constant fiddling, which I'll admit I am very much in favor of!) |

I guess my thoughts where this. This bike breaks ground in design, but then it had a analog readout? Personally if I could figure out a way to project the information in my helmet like a HUD, I would. I duno, I'm just being anal I guess. (Message edited by tatsu on November 16, 2004) |
