not trying to promote redline oil or anything...just been using it for years and have had nothing but good luck with it. i switched over from redline 20w50 to redline 20w60hd in my xb12s. just the other day, i rode for about 20 miles. i noticed my fan was on at high speed while sitting at a stop light. temperature outside was probably 85 degrees or so. after the light turned green, i got goin and was cruisin down the strip in 5th gear doin about 50 or so for a mile or two. at the next light, the fan was off. man this 20w60 is some good stuff. i've never had the fan come on, and then go back off while riding. whenever it comes on, it stays on. maybe my bike is still breaking in though. i have almost 3000 miles on it. i've had it for 3 weeks now. i've read alot of people saying the bike starts to run cooler as you ride it more. since i live in dallas, i don't have to worry too much about using such a low viscosity oil either. i'd recommend a 20w60 oil for anyone in a hot enviroment. seems to work really good. Don't ask mme for proof, but that oil was developed specifically because of Buell engine issues.  |
